Ok, here's the deal.. I'm thinking of putting a high rise spoiler and/or 16" IROC rims on my TA.
Now now, I know, , and I did, but I want opinions here.
Whaddaya all think?

yeah when I set out to buy another Fbody I was actually sort of hoping for a CAmaro for the high rise, but I like the aerowing too. Problem is mine needs to be replaced anyways lol.

I found this one, of 85vortecTA's car, and I love it. I also really like the exhaust, considering that too.

What if I painted them as shown in the tech articles? (mainly black with the middle of each spoke remaining polished)

id get a photo shop done first before puttin money down for some. i personally didnt like the look that they gave the bird. irocs are a bit different then z28 rims but have the same sort of look.

I'm going to do some minor stuff to the LG4 and then next summerish I plan to do a 350 swap. But I'm going to stay with a carb setup. I'm pretty young, so I'll be happy to hit the 14's for now. Maybe 13's when I get more time and money. Heck, I'm only 17 lol.

Well, one step at a time. After the swap I'll look into blowing it or spraying it or something.. Or both.

Oh man these all look amazing. Anyone willing to explain to me what exactly is involved with removing the old aerowind and filling/drilling holes, etc?

I have welded up the holes in a stock decklid, but its easier just to go to the junkyard and find a Camaro or Firebird with no spoiler and grab the lid off of it. About $10 here.

Ah yes, good point. But what about getting the spoiler off the stock hatch glass?

I have never removed an aerowing (my car had one, but the previous owner removed it since it was so badly cracked). There are some kind of metal clips attached to the metal around the back window. I am away from home and don't have my shop manual, but someone can probably give you more details. To make it look right you'll have to grind the clips off, or do what I did and replace the whole hatch (the metal band was in bad shape anyway on mine).

heh yeah I guess that'll work, but then I'd either have to find one from an 86, or get a smooth one and mount the light on the spoiler..and figure out how to wire it lol
