Anyone have pics of teh EVO kits? Site has no pics...
I have tried to do a search..
I got some pics, but most of the searches have photos that were links back to the evo site which no longer has the pics up of the kits. SO a bunch of dead links and X photos is all I got
Does anyone have any pics of the kit?
I had saved them all at one point, but the zip disk I had them on has died & the data is not retrievable...
Post them here please, or email them to me if you can't link them, since we have the 3 limit upload rule. If you can link them that would be great too!
Thanks!

No, there was no sarcasm in that post. I do not hold Thirdgens in such high regard that I think the Evo kit is a waste of a Thirdgen, in fact I love the Evo kit.
Every time the pics of a Evo get posted or someone asks about it all everyone does is bitch about how it is ruining a good Thirdgen, blah blah blah, bitch bitch bitch.

I accually own, built, painted and yes done the whole thing my self. I would be happy to answer some questions about it if some of you have them. I would post some pics but I am having trouble getting them attached.
Just so you all know the last I heard the molds were put up for sale but that was the last I heard about it. As of today there was one still in the create on www.kitcars.com.
I love this car and the attention is more then I ever expected, sometimes to much. I have got nothing but compliments on the car. Very few people know what it is. Most of them see the wheels and think Ferreri.
I'll tell you a little story about the build. I started with a really mint 83z28, Very bad idea becuase you chop the hell out of the car to get it to look like it does. I ended up 2.5 years later buying a 92Z because I missed my 83. So I should have started with a wreck not somthing nice.
Well if you got questions I have answers.

I bought the car in 89 for $2500. I got the kit for $6600 including the dash. The wheels were i think $2500 rear tires $800 for both and $100 for each front. I was doing all the paint and body work my self so i went cheap on the paint because I had no Idea how it would turn out, I spent around $200 on a sigle stage paint. I have around 5 gal. of fiberglass puddy in it. The bad part was I am very bizzy and last month was the first time I was able to drive it in 3 years. Not that it would take this long but time I don't have. I beleave the car could be completed in 80 hours and turn out well. If you know how to do all this stuff it would turn out very well in 80 hours. I have the first one and the body was realy rough when I got it, so it took a little longer to get all the body work done.

I have no web site and no plans to get one. I will send you some photos of the car in pieces as it was being painted. All I have from the build is some kodak photos. I have a scanner and will try to post photos of the car build in the future.

I built the car to be just like the on on the K-1 web site and the only things I had to change was the material they sent to build the rear tail lights, they sent plastic for the luvers and I used fiberglass, and of course the EVO 2 spoiler since the Evo1 exploded on me during my first test dive with the body on. I also went with the huge open front end instead of putting the divider in.
What this about the reverse open hood? Good Idea or bad because I still have the set up and was thinking about putting on my 92Z.

Here's the dash without dor panels. This dash goes well with the car but if your thinking of this dash in you normal 3rd gen don't, because there is no room for your knees on the passanger side. I had to weld brackets to the seat to push the seat back 4" just to make it comfortable. The 4th gen dash would of looked really good in this car with the body kit or not.

Yes I lowered it but I do not know how much. They stoped making the lowering spindals so I had to get lowering springs and that wasn't enough so I ended up cutting them down a little, until I found a hight that would work for me. I would like it to be a little lower but it is already a pain to drive due to you can't go over speed bumps and you have to watch all the dips so you don't drag the front.

i have been reading alot of the older posts about this kit and im kinda shocked at how many people talk down about it doing this to your car is no different then cutting up your stock exhaust for something else pulling out your perfect running motor out of your all origanal third gen for some more horses no matter what we do to are cars it all comes down to the same things we do it to be different then the guy down the block its not a bad thing its a great thing and it should drop some pounds of the car the hood, front fenders, bumpers, all come off for good and only the rear glass part of the hatch remains but i just talked to k-1 lastnight and they said they stoped making them about 2 years ago so if there is still some at euro-works then i would say there is not to many!

Yea those wheels are very expensive due to the rears, they are 13.5" and that costs money. At the time I bought my rear tires I could not find anyone else making them but perelli and they were $400 each. I found my build disc so i will check it to see if I can pull some pics off to post.

Love the work you have done with the kit. I could only dream about it, never had the finances !! I am really interested in the front opening hood, have been working on something for my GTA but not satisfied. Can you help? Dave

Say what you want, I think that is pretty bad ***. Ruin a thirdgen??? We should be honored that there was ever a kit produced to use the thirdgen as a platform for a custom kit. I think it says a lot about the car's characteristics handling wise. Everybody talks about making thier car different from the Jones's car, then some rip on these guys cause they did it.
It isn't a waste if the owner likes it as much or more than he did b4 installing the kit.

I address a couple of topic here. As for the tail lights I went trough several different try's but ended up going with what was supplied, and I also agree before it was done not my favorite part of the car but once finished it looked alot better then the pics everywhere.
As for the front open hood i loved that hood and had about 2 days of trying to get everything to work. I took the hood hinges and stuff off of a buick in a junk yard. I just called up and asked if they had any buicks with the front open hood and wamo. My hood was fiberglass and easy to work with. I think a metal hood would be a little harder to due but could still be done. It has been 3 years since I had this set up on my car so it is a little faint to remember. I do still have it hanging in the garage so I will try to get to it and snaps some photo's of the set up.
