cleaning road grime off lower paint
my car is medium maui blue and sliver on the last 4 inches all the way around ,after 11 years alot of mud and dirt has discolored some of the silver portion whats the best way to clean it without just repainting

Car: 90 Formula, blue/silver
Engine: 305 TBI
Transmission: 700R4
You have the same colors as me; a great combination...My silver has never discolored, but you could try cleaning it real well and then using some rubbing compound on it, either buffing it by hand or with a power buffer. Be careful around any high edges, as you could buff the paint right off if you linger in one spot too long. The compound will take off a bit of the paint, and hopefully the discoloration as well. Good luck.
P.S. Used to live just north of Tarpon Springs some years ago...
