Rear Z28/IROC-Z emblems...
I have just found someone who will make the Z28 and IROC rear emblems and they look the same as the original GM items - obviously the advantage here is that they can be whatever colour is required... would there be any interest and if so at what sort of price?

Pretty much any sign shop can make the graphics, and lots can even do the clear plastic "dome" effect.
.....I made my own rocker emblems, and I've had people swear that after looking at them up close, they still thought they were factory.
....it's still a good idea though, what color are you wanting?

colour I wanted was Gold... and have to say it's come up trumps especially since I wanted it GM style but reading 383 rather than Z28 looks great with the gel-coat surface hence my question if there was a demand for them...

Guys, I hate to just tease you guys, but I plan to start making these, completely custom, and with the Gel-coat. Problem is that I'm no longer in the production of signs, I'm now in sales, and don't have the time to use the equipment. A friend and I are planning on purchasing our own equipment, but unfortunatley a vinyl plotter isn't cheap, and it may be a little while before this happens.
...not sure what to tell you all..... but that's currently the situation. Wish I could do better.

....if I can work something out, what colors and what text do you want to see?
OK, my friend just called me back, and said the red bowtie on the rear bumper emblem is too small for the doming process, so it would only be the main lettering, just like the rockers.
Tri-blue...Z28?
Gold 383, in the Z28 font?
Red rear bumper with no bowtie?
....guys I can't promise anything since it's not actually me "borrowing" shop supplies. But I'll see if I can't cash in some favors.

Those are really nice Abubaca And they look very stock too. Do you just attach your emblems with 3m tape? But if you can work something out I could also use red Z-28 rocker emblems, if not thats fine im in no big rush.

If I do get the ball rolling on this, chances are they will NOT be cheaper than GM or YearOne. Last time I checked, they were "around" $25-$30 bucks per rocker emblem. Mine have a 1/8" acrylic back plate that you can see in the picture. Then they have a vinyl decal, and then the doming goes on top of that. Short of the plotter cutting the vinyl, the rest is all done by hand. If I'm able to get a few sets made here, they'll be about the same as GM and YearONe. I'm not out to make money (yet) but you guys can understand me at least breaking even. Now GM and YearOne, those are the guys chargine too much!
I used 3M emblem adhesive, but silicone adhesive is what I'd recommend. 3M VHB double sided tape should work fine too.
Update:
I just got off the phone with my guy who did the doming. He has since been "releived" of his duties at his job! .....however, I may go ahead and purchase a doming kit, and he said he will be happy to come by the house and help me. (I've never actually used the doming epoxy myself). The acrylic is no problem, so I just need to talk to my other guy who runs vinyl at our sign shop. I'm pretty sure he'll do it, but without him it's a no go since I'm not actually in the shop anymore.

Abubaca,
i need triple blue i'll be your gunie<sp> pig if you can do them. the pic is in this post. so the rear bumper one will be just z 28 without bowtie? just so i'm clear. i may only want the gfx ones then. since it may look odd without the bow tie.

No real progress.
I kinda have to be honest here. I always find these situations and I often offer to help before I have the cooperation of everyone that I need to have help from. Between everything I have going on, and all my friend has going on, we just don't have much time. He an aquaintance, not like I see him everyday.
We've talked about it here an there, but no real progress.

I need a rear IROC Z emblem. I have two side ones already. Just no back. Don't hate me because it isn't really a Z. It should have been damnit!

I bought new ones when I repainted my car a few years ago, I should have bought some spares! I didn't figure they would discontinue them like that.
