Cragars and 3rd. gens.(PLZ Bring on the pics!!!)

UPDATE!!!! ANYONE W? CRAGARS ON YOUR THIRD GEN< prefferably 15's or 14's whats your back spacing? Mine will not fit sadly front or rear!!!!!! I had 15x7's w/ a 2.25 inch backspace and they could get hit by the rear outer fender lip on back up top if we hit a hard bump or something. My shocks are junk but I got new ones, and w/ my dad leaning on the back she came down on the rear tires. The fronts, no way they'd work, theres no clearance really at all what so ever. I have 215/65 15s on them.
I am now thinking of gettin four 14 inch cragars to go all way around or 15's(no comments plz) its due to a lack of funds that I'll go w/ 14's because we have 4 pretty much brand new kelly chargers size 215/60 14 so.. anyways, The normal backspace on them is like 4-1/8 I think I should be fine w/ that measure and going w/ 7 inch wide. So for you guys w/ em plz let me no some info on yours if u know it. thanks. I'd like to do 15 x8's in back and 7's in front. and do like a 235/60 (15's) in back or wider maybe w/ the normal 4 and 1/8 bs if they would clear. So you guys let me know what wil fit and what will hit. I mean basically what would be close when a bump is hit or something Its rough round here!! lol.

Ok How many of you still have them, want them, or got rid of them?

Let's see some pics of the old school cragars you all know the ones, the 5 spoke s/s super sport cragars. The lookalikes or anything 15's or the new 17's let's just see some pics of em!!!!!

Does anyone have the pre drilled kind? That will only fit the gm 5 bolt by 4-3/4 bolt pattern or know who still can get them? I got some unilugs brand new from summit and lots of places stil have them but anyone know where to get predrilled? So they only fit gm, I tried summit and jegs, no luck. I check ebay very often as well, so besides them does anyone know?

Ok now on w/ the pics.... post em up people!!!!

Very nice guys.
Yea feel free to drop in any kind of cragars like the street stars they are nice as well, and for the look alikes such as: raiders, appliance, and all others. Even some keystone Klassics would look nice.

i'v always like the ss scince a kid it was the rim to have for your hotrod.

but i always seen em go with the largst offset you can get so there is a nice dish look, ya know spokes way in rim lip toward outside.

the new ss;s are just to straight for me.

My new wheels are the reversed offset or deep dish style. I got 15 x 8's w/ like a 2.25 inch backspace or something. I have yet to put em on my camaro though the lugs wil be in today. Summit sent me 7/16 rh's instead of 12x1.5's!!! So they are sending me another set today. Can't wait to get em mounted!!!

W/o tires the rims them selves hang out in back almost , well a lil under half an inch, up front its a lil over 3/4 of an inch w/ the wheels straight. W/ tires prolly 2 inches lol. I've seen worse!!! and if I don't like em they'll go on the s10 and I'll get another set. I was thinking of buying four 14x8's and have them be standard offset of like 4.125 inch backspace since we have a brand new set of 4 kelly chargers in 215 60 14's and I got new stingers on theese 15's do 15's in back of the camaro and s-10 and 14's in front to give it the fat tire look out back w/ skinnies in front.

Your replying to all my threads tonight jef lol.
Yea I can't wait either, only thing I worry about is having that offset on all 4 if the front will rub or if itl lok to stupid from the side well like front half front/side angle I guess I'll know in a week or so. I got a list of parts to go on 1st like brakes and shocks on all four corners and then a front tie rod end, paint the fender wells and drums black and then mount the new tires n wheels.

so did i read this right?

15 in back 14 in front same offset,

what are the rim widths.

i would of tried a 15x10 rear 60 series tire and a 15x8 70 series frt and that would give ya the fat tire look in the back

oh and a tip when you install the lugs use hand tools only no air wrnches ever. Air wrench chips the crome off the lugs and in no time the look like ***.

No as of right now mine are all 15x7's reversed offset. I liked the fat chrome lip but didn't want to risk it coming out to far so I got 7's and they were the cheapiest and cheap on tires as well. If I had thousand of bucks to blow at one time w/o saving for years to get it i'd get 17 inch tt2's. The 17 in. cragars are too flat but tt2's are curved and nice. No I was saying later my dad might buy some 14x7's or 8's in normal backspacing of like 4 inches. That would give us 4 15 x7 reversed and 4 14x7 standard 4 in. bs. So I'd put 2 14's on the front and 2 15's on the back and do the same on the s10 giving them both the fattie/skinnie look.

After mounting tires on theese and everything considered I wished I had went w/ 2 normal backspace cragars and 2 reversed like the 15x7's or even 8's. On the other hand my fav would have been use some 15x10's w/ a 5 inch or so backspace and some 15x8's w/ the 4 inch in front. Go w/ some 235/60's up front or 215/60's and go w/ a tire to fil up the back dunno if 265 or 275 would do it or not. All in all makes me think if I knew they'd clear I'd get 15x8's all way round w/ the back ones reversed, front standard 4 inch and do 235/60's all way round if I knew they wouldn't rub the back lip.

Wouldn't do you any good jeff, they won't clear.

EVERYONE PLZ GO BACK TO THE TOP AND READ THE 1ST PART IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN IT ALREADY!!!

It's an update about them sadly I have to order new ones now for mine. They look sweet on the s10 and wee just what we needed to fil out the wells. Damn shame I couldn't use any of em even on back!!!!! Les i put in new springs and/or spacers(in the springs)and/or air shocks to lift the back in order to avoid hittin a hole and bad bump and them come up and rub the upper lip.
Damn they looked mean on back though sticking out!!!!

i think your problem is your tire size not the back spacing but hard to tell without more info.

they were inside the wheel wells?

back side had no issues with clearance

whats wrong with the fronts?

215 65 15 is a tall tire. i would of went to a 235 60 15 or 225 60 15 on all corners, now that is a guess i would have to look up some stuff but if the rim makes it then the tire is the problem. go wider and shorter if your afraid of the 60 series go with a nice 70 seriers they would still be good handlers

i think these would fit nice with the right tire

16" 4 3/4 bolt and 4 1/2 in back spacing

I love the 16's and wished I could use em but too expensive for me. It's too expensive for me to buy 14's!!! It's gonna cost about 265 each time to buy 2 wheels, valves and lugs. I can't get them all at once either. I wished I could. main reason for going 14's is because I already have the tires. I bought brand new 15's for the reversed offsets but they won't work.

In order for the reversed to work I'd have to get like a 55 series. The wheels themselves hang out about 1/2-3/4 of an inch past the top outer lip of the car. (The furtherest outreaching point on the car) or the outer fender lip the very top part right over the top of the wheels the rest is even more. That's the outer most point on our cars in the fenders and 1/4's. So w/ my 215/65's they don't have any clearance what so ever all the way around w/ the wheels straight!!!! The front of the tire w/o anyone in it and barely budge the sterring wheel rubs the plastic retainers that hold the plastic inner fender skirt on the fender. In back when weights put on it the top of the lip(the inside part of it that rolls into the tire well) hits the outside edge of the tread. Now that could be fixed w/ air shocks, or springs as I mentioned but stil roads are bad and I'd be afraid of hittin a chug hole and bam blow out a tire. Because the fender lip came down and smacked the tire good causing it to blow. So if I had like 400 or 500 to spend on tires I could get mine to work, have a 45 or 50 series side wall and look ridiculous w/ 15 inch tires, I hate that look anyways so ya know either way won't work to great. The 215 65's really give the fender wells a nice full look all the way round their arch. My reversed offsets gave the back a definate nice fat tire look I loved it.
