theres more then one way to get the "badass" look...
for example, some people thing 3" wide and 11" wide drag wheels look badass... meanwhile others think that 10" wide fronts, and 11" wide rears with it lowered to the ground look badass......
just do what you want and think looks nice... fug the others.

I have 275/60/15in the back and 235/60/15 in the front. It made the car look meaner in my opinion after I put on the 275's. Tires are wider and made the car sit up a little in the back.

here is what i like, larger wheels so you can have larger brakes. yes you have to have thinner tires but the new dr's out now can hook better then some of the above that look like what was on the car. you get corner handling with a stiffer sidewall, great acceleration and grip for the straights and the large area for brakes with the updated look....
but it isn't for everyone.

just because you want wide tires doesn't mean you have to settle for having them stick outside of the car....
heres a rear shot of 295/35/18.
Kandied- I know you know the rules. This isn't the first or even third time I've removed images from your posts. Three uploaded images per thread means just that. You have a cardomain site, use it. Thanks.

Hey Candied.
What rims are those and what size specs? Are all the tires 295s?

Hey omnipotent, are those 17/18's a photoshop or real? If its real thats the first 17/18" combo that I've seen that doesnt look like crap, in fact it looks damn good

I have an eibach prokit on and even though it lowered an 1 or so, it has a little "rake" to it. the rear sits an inch higher than front. It still has 16x8 iroc rims on it with 245 tire. I personally like the even lowered look all the way around and would have liked an extra half inch lowered if possible but it is not very practical as scraping does occur underneath. It does make you shutter at the sound.
But the little rake in the stance looks "mean", "badass", etc.
That me but maybe you would like this. Found it on this site. Forget who it was though.

that picture with you always kills me.......
the only thing i don't like about the 17/18 is the fact that you almost have to "rake" the suspension to make the gaps even. the body wasn't designed for that type of setup so otherwise it looks funny when at certain angles and especially while rolling down the road.
Charged350, that's a 18x10" rear rim. yes you could squeeze it on a 9 i suppose although your ride will suffer. you should put the right size tire for the right rim and in that case your offset/backspacing if sat right should sit the same with any of the common wheel widths.
FIRECHICKEN if your asking about the last picture i posted those are the rims on my car now. boze stinger model and no it isn't 295 all around. i'm running 245/40/18 up front, it's pointless for a street car to have that wide of a tire up front and with how i like to lower the car it's impossible to run that wide upfront. you can get away with a 275 width and have some lowering but any wider and your asking for troubles.
for my setup i wanted the wheels and tires in the exact stock location, not only fits better i think but i can have full suspension travel at any height. also if i really wanted to throw something extreme on the car i've got room to work with a fat tire on a smaller rim much like the first pic i posted which was a 15x10 rim setup.

15" Cragar S/S wheels (15x8 and 15x10), drop the nose 2", leave the rear height stock, get some white lettered tires like Radial T/As or something, and a REALLY hairy sounding exhaust system.

I dont think the rake look is that good looking when the car has ground effects. If you had a SC without ground fx and you gave it a rake with some fat tires out back it would look good. Id show you a pic of my mustang with a slight rake look but i dont want to ruin the post by putting an ugly car in it. even though it does have the "badass" look that i think you are going for.
#37
I sure hope you aren't planning on throwing some massive drag tires on the car and doing the rake look, while you still have the 305 in the car......or at least gonna replace it sometime soon....

I had to switch to the cragars for a while as one of my C5 rims got bent. I've recently aquired another one ($65 bux!! not bad for a rim!) and put the C5's back on.

The seatbelts are on a girlfriend of an http://www.coloradof-body.com member. He posted the pic and it spread like wild fire. It's on a number of different sites now.
