IROC you use gold class right???? Does it really only last that long? I use to use Mirror Glaze #26 and it would beat for a few months, but your waxing once a month, whys that?

It lasts longer then that. But nothing beats a freshly waxed car

So far I used Zymol and Gold Class. Gold Class gives a little better shine, but Zymol lasted longer. I just got some nxt last week, going to try that next, then zaino.

That is if I ever start putting my car back together...

haven't waxed the car since i paited her 6 or so years ago.....never will either.

wax is for destroyed paint. it only promotes the bad areas and seals contaminents. however, i use it on my very high mileage paintjobs on the daily drivers because it adds depth to the paint that is lost after alot of abuse. however i make sure that swirl marks, imperfections and contaminents are as free as possible before i do so knowing that it will make them show more.

if you have factory paint or a really poor repaint then a good quality wax (hopefully without carnuba) is for you. otherwise a good polish/glaze of fine grain is what you should be using.

but what would i know....my paint will be 7 years old in a month!

Quick question, what type of polish are you using?

He never said he doesn't use polish...just not wax. He has posted before what polish he uses in other threads.

Exactly, I've used several types of polishes...they all work pretty much the same. I'm using a product made by "Car Brite" it's a local detailing business that sells to car lots and shops around here. It's called "Crystal Shine" and I buy it by the gallon. I would like to try wizards some time too though. It's hard to get something that works really really good on black/dark paints though....and so far, the stuff I've used works the best for me.
