My lugs nuts are starting to rust..already! What options do I have?
Does anyone know if stainless steel lug nuts are available? I've had my wheels on since October..only like 400 miles on'em...and my lug nuts are already starting to turn...a little rusty and dull looking. (they are chrome plated) I wasn't sure if anyone on here is running a set that aren't chrome plated...or some that don't rust. Please let me know some options. Thanks alot

i can't remember are your TTII's billet or cast? if they are billet and your using a impact you ought to shoot whom ever let you start doing that. the last person to use an impact on my billet wheels had a 3/4" ratchet bounce off their head.
as far as the lugs it's pretty typical. i doubt they are chrome plated since those types of lugs are rather expensive and you would be really bitching if someone used an impact. sounds like you just have regular style type lugs.
go back to your tire store and ask for the right ones. shouldn't be much more then 40 for them and they will not rust even if you chip them. you might get some contact rust from the studs but nothing you can't just wipe off.

I think my wheels are cast...they are polished aluminum. I think I might just go to a couple other tire places to see what they have to say. I'm not going back to the shop I went to because they were such a**holes....

youre not supposed to use an impact gun on chrome lugs, it makes the chrome flake off and the lugs will rust

I know by using the impact on my current lugs that they will flake and rust...I'm just asking if there is a company that makes a set that can withstand an impact and will not rust. Something made of stainless would be perfect.
