custom mesh grill inserts pic

This is the custom mesh grill inserts I made out of a pair of speaker protection covering stuff.

Pay no mind to the old SS sticker, that is way gone.

This cost me zero dollars, and worked great, this pic is kinda bad, but it works to get the idea out. Took me 10 minutes to fab up..

I like those a lot... What kind of metal (or where did you get it from) did u use again?

Nice, so is tpiroc's, good stuff, heck I may change mine after seeing it is real cheap to use that style mesh

I attached it to a black bar that runs across near the bottom of the opening. Then I just used zip-ties to hold it in place.

Potentially good stuff.... all this thread needs is a few cans of black spray paint.

why u say that bud?
think we shoudl apint our mesh black?
in the end mine prolly will be due to my car bein silver and the mesh bein silver goin to have to go white red or black whites doesnt fit anythgin on my car red and black match interior but im leaning towards black.

Yea... the silver just screams chicken wire and cheap to me.

Just a personal preference.

If the wire is set back behind the grille and the diamods are horizontal it's not as bad, but I would still paint it black if it were mine. One a silver car I might leave it silver though ... yea.

I got mine from LOWES for about $10 for the whole sheet.

I like it in the silver color, but you cannot see mine that good, it's back behind a ways, but I love it.

I just took my grill out and bent the sides around the grill its self and stuck it back in, it fit great!!

I found it in a wierd section that sells just certin shapes of sheetmetal.

Ask for chicken wire to make a cage out of, or some type of mesh metal to make a BBQ cover with, that will get you there.

To all of you who have aftermarket fogs:

Where did you attach the fog lights to if the mesh is attached directly to the back of the grille?

I have my current lights mounted into the bottom part of the grille and I would really like to try this mod.

How doooooooooooooo you do it?

Thanks RUS, I'm gonna attempt to make something that looks like Denali grill material... keyword being attempt, so when I screw that up I'll go get some better meshTheres a piece of the bumper back in there that there mounted to, its not the best thing to mount to cause its a little wobbly and hard to get a screwdriver up in there, but it's not too difficult to rig up, just take your grill out and youll see it.

Re: Gutter-G0d....

..well, when I lived back in Connecticut when I was totally imersed in the whole import scene(anyone who knows me knows I'm a total Nissan freak when i'm not drooling over 3rd gens!)...I was always wondering WHY people didnt just buy gutter-g0d for way cheaper than some super street or APC branded stuff that was just the same thing but cost like 20 bucks more B/C it had the APC name or SS name on it....but now I guess I know...when in doubt...ok, and in $$ shortages, use Gutter-G0d!

"FO FWEE, 3rd GEN-SON!"

how about like, using some window mesh behind the Gutter-G0d to stop smaller particles from getting through?...How about spray painting the window mesh a flat black before putting it behind the ghetto-chromed-out Gutter-G0d?!?!?
hehe!

i went to home depot and other businesses like that, gutter stuff I dont think is what you want, that is liek chicken whire... flimsy.. if you get hit by a bug on the free way it will dent that crap... go to your local metal shop... ask for aluminum diamond mesh, they will probably have scraps like the place I did. I looked at that gutter stuff and if its the same as what you've guys seen... thnk about it,, you can bend that stuff with your fingers like nothing. but then again... maybe its not what i"m takling about

personally I like the pure aluminum color...?

man a big bug? i dunno have be huge and rock solid else it split into pieces and junk now nice sized stone or really anlmost anything bigger then a gravel or so would dent it if it got thrown at speed but alot of pl like the close knit pattern unlike the wide diamond shaped what i call table top material. but that diamond kind would definatly hold up to anything almost if something were to hit that stuff and dent it its proly torn your bumper cover off or at least torn it some how lol.
