Chrome plating help
I want to chrome plate my tailpipes before I install them. Can anyone help me out? The places around here don't want to do a small job like that. I can have them nickel plated, but I would rather go with chrome.
Thanks.
Thanks.

definately cheaper to buy them......most run stainless. it's easier to maintain. chrome would turn colors on you very quickly and look rather out of place on anything other then a show car that is not driven ever.

3rdgenstm, there are two places that I know of here in Illinois one in Quincy and one in Rock Island that I had my plating done at in the mid 80's and early 90's they both did a good job. If you don't mind paying the shipping let me know I will get the addresses for you but I assume you are looking for something more local.

Let's see:
Tips. If I wanted to put tips on them, then I wouldn't have bought nice tailpipes, ya know what I mean? Tips look good on 4th gens, but I don't really care for them on 3rd gens. They tend to look like add- ons instead of looking like tailpipes. Anyway, most are chrome plated too, so there is no real difference with appearance. This isn't a daily driver, but it's not a show car either; I drive it when i feel like it, but I don't baby it. I just wanted something other than the plain finish that is on it. If you all have some pics of good looking tips, please share.
I can have them nickel plated, which isn't as mirror like. That might fit in better and it is a little less expensive. Cost will be the determining factor, of course, if I do anything.
Thanks for the input.
Flirtin- if you have the phone #'s of those places, that would be great.
