My car, as i dream it to be....

Alright guys this is my car as my dream shows it. Now i've only been working with photoshop for today, i think i'm coming along pretty nicely. I had fruity put the wheels on there but i color toned them and everything to make them look right. I also shaved the door handles, Shaved the gas door, I'm trying to work on a ram air hood but its kinda hard. If anyone wants to give a ram air hood a shot by all means go ahead.

The rims are 4th gen FireHawk Rims. They are only $699 for 4, 17x9 also. I like them a lot.

What else would look good guys? I'm trying to do my best art work on this thing.

I like it. The color is great on pontiac F-bodys (That and Gun metal grey) The shaved handles and gas door in my opinion look better on birds then camaros. Flows better. Rims look nice too.

Damn I wish I had a Bird.

I do know for a fact my car has been in 3 wrecks, but I haven’t had access to carfax or whatever it is to check to be exact on how many more it was in. If anybody has access to carfax ask me for the VIN please because I am clueless. My left (right in the picture) headlight, the metal around it has been bent back and broken. If a thief were smart, they could actually pull it out and run away with it. It’s that loose. I don’t know what to-do about that. I guess the hood gap came from a previous accident or something.

Small defects in my paint job are starting to show, in the wheel wells, and on the under body parts they painted. I called them and they said to bring her on in and we'll fix her up. Last time something was wrong with the wheel well, 3 days after I got the job done, it was finished in 2 days. I hope it’s that fast this time. I don’t like the fact that they painted on stuff they did, at first in the wheel wells they painted over dirt. The next day I brought it back and they said, OMG, well fix that, just bring her in tomorrow. I did they fixed it free of charge. Good thing my warrantee of for 4 years huh? Covers fading and peeling and cracking. Got to love them, they are called Spray glo and have great customer support. Even though they are cheap they stand by them paint jobs. I only paid $680 for the job, mostly because I did a lot of prep work myself and they had to take it all off (I used rattle can primers and shizzle, had to be sanded off).

Shane

P.S. I don’t know how it goes but does the period go before the parentheses as in this ".)", or parenthesis then period as in this ")."

Everyone told me that they were a cheap *** place and that i should never get a cheap job done. But these people guarentee their work for a very long time. I cant see how they doubted it.Once you see the car you can tlel they do good jobs. I dont have but one run, and you cant see it unless i point it out to you cause its near the license plate. Silver is also a very hard color to paint, so i've heard, and it runs very easily. They did an awesome job for the money. My job would have been $975, but i let them do it as a filler(they do it when they are not busy) and they took off a sh*t load of money.

i do and i will.

It changes ona day to day basis though. If you notice all the other forums i posted it in, it changes every time. I dunno why, new things come to me.

I'm also gonna be taking auto mechanics classes at FCCJ(florida community college jacksonville) this summer. FCCJ has the hgihest rated auto mechanics classes in the entire state. They are only $400 per class, i'm tkaing three. Since i'm a junior they will also count as high school credits. My mommy is paying for all of it.

How true! If you don't end up deviating from your list altogether - there's always something else you realize you want to do long after your list is completed.

I like the path you've laid out for the car, kidrcth, sounds like a solid plan from what I can see.

I had a list last year... I don't bother any more because it changed every 15 mins, lol... if I stuck to the list, it woulda been the most modern, hi-tech car I could build by now... but the way the parts are accumulating, its turning into my dad's modified '73 Z28 Camaro in a '83 body, lol

I think the cost for your engine is underrated (rebuild parts, machine work, etc)... I wouldn't waste time changing the way your car looks (why bother with shaved door handles and shaved this and that crap (which looks bad anyway) when you could just buy more drivetrain/suspension items)... Your car looks good now, don't eff it up... I'd focus on the "go" since your "show" looks good already..

Oh, and the period goes outside of the parenthesis...

the prices for the engine are what the local junk yard carges for a complete corvette LT1. The rebuild kit is off ebay. All the prices are what i have found and confirmed.

Thanks, its what i though, the perod does go after the parenthesis.

Have you priced machine work for the block that you will need to rebuild it (to put your stroker kit in?)?? Valve job for the cylinder heads along with a new cam/other valvetrain parts to go with your 383?? Have you priced gasket sets?? Have you priced incidentals (water pumps, ignition tune-up items, etc)?? Are you going to use the opti-spark system, or are you going to get a lt1 conversion intake?? Chip burning software/equipment?? Tools (harmonic balancer pullers, torque wrenches, engine hoist, engine stand, etc for the engine, and snap ring pliers, low-reverse piston removal tool, front pump removal tool/gear pullers, etc for the transmission)??

You'll need a 88-up 700r4 with all the gm updates and aux valve body if you want to rebuild it (and not waste your time).. There's another $100 for a junkyard core.. Then you're gonna be buying new sprags, and other misc. hard parts in addition to your master rebuild kit.. Don't forget a stall converter too! Wow, money adds up fast..

These aren't even the nickel and dime stuff yet, which you can expect to run anywhere from $500 or more.. You have to remember all of those "I should do this while I'm here with the engine out" kinds of things as well.... You'll need to divert alot of that "appearance" funding to your engine project if you want to do it right...

well actually i havn't added all that stuff in becuase i can get the machining done for free(i know somebody).

The engine part is just a outline of the major parts i'm gonna need. A good friend of mine told me to get the LT1 in first then later build up to a 383. Which until then might just be fine for me.

I've just now started to come up with suspension mods for the car. Like strut tower braces, sub frame connectors and everything. Also i'm gonan be gettingt he eibach drag launch spring kit. That will also improve my 1/4 mile times. Dunnowhat else yet though.

well, money has never been a problem. If i dont got cash and i need something very badly; my mother will give me the money. FOr the paint job i had been loaned the $650, and the $250 for new front brakes, and couple toehr small things. I paid her off on the 1st on january. I paid all that debt off in 3 months 23 days. I had it going on at circuit city, but i got laid off. So no more money. I had a job a few weeks ago, $7 an hour, and i quit due to it being a bad work place. Even the managers were on drugs. And when customers complained about logical things the managers would clal them bitches. I worked for CarSpa, a place that washes cars. I liked it at first i mean $7 an hour was great but the environment i couldn't stand. It would make me look bad.

I'm in the process oh finding a job big time. My mom can hook me up with a job at grocery stores and stuff. But i want a very nice paying job my friend. I need cash, my insurance bill is gonna be half my monthly pay its so expensive. Alstate is expensive man.

Lol we all want a high paying job we love. Best time to look for a job is when you have one. Id be more than happy to work at some grociery store while I looked for a better job, at least while im looking I could still be making money.

I don't really like the 4thgen firehawk rims, I think the Ws6 rims look better.

Your hood gap doesn't seem to be too out of place, besides you can always adjust it.

Great news guys. I am now employed. I now am working at AMC theatres. This is awesome, was so easy. Seminar is tomorrow. They left a message on my voice mail and I just checked it ten minutes ago. They said I got the job, that I have to come tomorrow to fill out the paper work (you know W-4s and stuff). This way I can buy stuff for my thirdgen. I am so happy.
