well, i have been feelin pretty white trash lately and this thread has helped me a little bit, to be honest. let me explain my current situation and give ya'll a good laugh...my BONE STOCK 1986 Z28 is my daily driver. before i got it (for merely a grand, i might add) my friend had blown the front left tire doing doughnuts on a local beach with too low air pressure in the tire. so now i have a mismatched rim (appliance mag with HUGE tire on it) on the front end amongst my 3 remaining Z28 rims with slick tires. i am tapped for cash so i cant afford to replace them right now. i keep driving it and just when i am SLOWLY learning to live with the current white trash look i have been stuck with, the front RIGHT tire goes flat. now my only option is to put the factory doughnut on. so now i have my freakin mismatched rim on one side and my doughnut on the other, lookin SUPER WHITE TRASH...also, about a week ago, my car developed a MASSIVE exhaust leak. so now it SOUNDS like crap and i have been so busy at work (in the Army prepping to deploy) that i haven't had TIME to fix it. i am also missing my headliner...so i am feeling really depressed about my Camaro...especially compared to my last Camaro. my pretty much mint 1989 IROC-Z...

Dude... you own a 3rd Gen. You have no problems.

Godspeed if you get deployed (and if yer in CA, I'll hold yer car for you).

well, thanks for the kind words...to be honest, the fact that it is a 3rd gen is the only thing that makes it not embarassing to drive...and i also forgot to mention that i also have a fuel pump problem, so now if ya get on it it runs out of gas, lol. all to be fixed Wednesday...otherwise it is a pretty clean Camaro...

Guilty of:

Dull and or mismatched body panels

Neon lights, both underbody and interior

Gaps in hoods

...anyone playing music really loud that's not good quality metal... preferrable black metal and melodic death/black stuffs (listen to techno as well... but there will always be a home for some Dimmu in my car!!!)

Stickers, either on or under the hood, leave them for your tool box.

Missing or broken gfx

Blue smoke out the tailpipe (only when you start it!)

More than 3 inch exhaust pipes (4", I like it!)

Rust

Driving with no Hood (drove an hour to get a new hood, without one. Got so many looks, it was great!!)

Anything made by APC. APC stands for "All Pieces o' Crap", and it's nothing to be proud of.

I have seen a yellow APC window sticker on a faded yellow Maro

As for me

1.Dented Fender (previous owner)
2.Scratched Front spoiler from drivethru's and what not.
3.Friends
4.Broken Boards (in the hatch)
5.Friends Trash
6.Friends teeth after leaving trash

Things that make my car look bad:

1. One of the exhaust tips caught on the bottom of the GFX?? (I don't know how but thats how it came - stock exhaust too)

2. A straight line of bird **** dripping from the right spoiler mount, over the taillight, and over the bumper (Really ought to clean my car today).

3. Chipping paint in the front and on the GFX.

4. Hard-to-remove dirt/mud on the GFX/wheel wells.

PS AR rims are awesome.

Trying to prettify your brand new valve covers by washing the engine with greased lightning, which, in turn, burns the **** out of them and your distributor shaft....might make your engine (and you) look bad.

Actually, the Altezza is an Asian Market Toyota...I think it is a Lexus here in the U.S. and it was the first car with that style tail lights. So unless you have toyota tail lights on your third gen, then, well, they are look alikes. And what's with the commies in here. Let's face it, these cars are a dime a dozen so who cares if he makes one ugly in your opinion. Yes, there are a bunch of stock ***** in here, you'd think sometimes it was a darn first gen mustang forum. Yes, if you have something rare, I would keep it close to stock, but how many third gens are rare, really?

dude... my car is far from stock. cowl hood, non stock wheels, a system loud enuff to make the ppl in front of me roll their windows up as an attempt to get away from the techno. What i meant, back in the day was that there is a fine line of good taste and gaudiness which in my opinion he crossed.

There was a firebird that lived near me back in Florida. The car was orange and lime green. It looks as though he tryed to make flames with the orange but instead, it looks more like a child who drew water with a lot of waves in it. This spray paint was also from a can.

Dirty wheels
Dirty car
neons

glue on scoops, especially on a firebird without the Ram Air, glue on ram air scoops
bubbled or partially tinted windows
Dirty interior, even if it's torn up, you can still atleast clean it so it doesn't look gross.
Different color body parts(like my car, Gunmetal Metalic all around, white hood and bumper cover)
Mis-aligned parts(my front end was wrecked 3 times(no, not by me) so i've got to straighten it out to make my RAII hood and bumper cover align perfectly).

Well I guess That I am guilty of a couple of things such as the "Euro-lites" (headlights) and the APC wiring harness...to each their own but my car is a hell of a long way from stock...all custom but tastefully done!

I disagree with number 2, as its a time honored hot rodding tradition as long as it's done right. You have to hang it properly, no tubes visible so all you see is the glow, and its color has to accent your cars, not like pink neon or anything of that nature.

As for the rest :

Well as long as your car is tastefully done, i.e. not ghetto'd or trashed or worse yet "mexican-ed" or Riced you'll be ok. Taste is like common sense though.. it aint that common and not everyone has it.

My whole body color is all off, and my front GFX is missing. Also my trunk isnt aligned properly and my doors have dents from hitting things because of stuff being on the way when I open doors. Front passanger fender is dented and does not line up with the hood (someone hit it wit a baseball bat before I bought it)

All my moldings are old, cracking, some even missing.....
