I've never seen one on a 3rdgen that I can think of, and I don't think I'd like it if I did. It's kinda like the whole SS 3rdgen thing, they didn't make them so it's not cool to pretend your is one. (at least thats my opinion) have the front triangle all solid with out the SYC in it and it might look cool though

I have mixed emotions about this.
Yes, I think it would look awesome, and replacing the SYC does technically make it so you're not one of these "fake" car people.
...However, I'm huge on the heritage of Camaros, and to me, I just couldn't do it. Most stripes and appearance packages are OK in my opinion, assuming you don't actually mis-badge the car, but the Yenko cars are special. I think they deserve not to be duplicated.
...again, just my opinion.

I think the first gen side stripes that start down at the bottom on the front fender, go up and turn at the top of the fender and the run back along the side of the car to a point would look sweet on a thirdgen. I think they call them hockey stick stripes. I was thinking of doing this on my IROC when I get it repainted. I was also thinking of doing like a Grand Sport corvette stripe and fender hashes as well but I think either would work well on a 3rd gen.

The only problem with using Yenko stripes to be different (even if you don't use the SYC) is that everyone is gonna say " Wow, is that some sort of Yenko?" I think you're gonna get tired of saying "no, but I just like the stripes".
Hockey stripes, bumble bee stripes, DX1 stripes, they're all rather generic to Camaros in general. ...but not the Yenko stripe.
Don't get me wrong, it'd look pretty cool, but I wouldn't do it. Sounds to me like you've already decided! It's all good, good luck!!! Post pics when you're done!

Ya, but not in those colors. One of my ideas is to keep the car black and do the big single stripe in medium gray metallic and the fender hashes in like a deep maroon/black cherry metallic. Both the stripe and the hashes will be ghosted in too, I think it will look really sweet. The other option is the hockey stick stripes in gray (or maybe some other color) but probably not ghosted. Its still all up in the air though. I still have some time to think about it.

i disagree i think once they say Iroc/Z on the side and somethin different then sYc on the hood theyd say..thats unique i know i would. If someone knew what a Yenko Camaro was they would know that Don Yenko never made a Yenko camaro in the 80s..(the Turbo Z Yenko Camaro was a 2nd gen mighta been a 80-81 but not sure so maybe i should say no Yenkos ever made on the 3rd Gens..)

I like the IROC/Z on the side instead of the Yenko SC. THat would look real good. Another thing that would look good are the hockey stick stripes. Like the GMMG ZL-1. Maybe put "383" instead of 427, or something along those lines.

Even a Baldwin-Motion stripe package would look nice. Have the back, behind the hatch glass wrapped in, say white, get an L-88 hood, and put a wide single strip down the middle.

i think these wheels would look very awesome w/ Yenko stripes . i whant the old school look but w/ todays standers... so i would go w/ 18s. to keep the old school look i'd go w/ hood pins .
(they are kind of like TT2s)

mmmmm stage 3 B-M camaro....
I think that Yenko stripes would be very cool, as would the hockey stripe (the stripe thats on the 4th gen and some first gens. I really like the IROC/Z in the tail of the yenko stripe!! Old school mixes with new school. But you know you have to have the motor to back up the look.

here is a totally weak MS paint hockey stripe I did on my IROC. It looks like crap but it gets the point across.

I've been messing around with thirdgen hockey stripes, and it's pretty tough to make'em look right. I personally don't think the fourth gen hockey stripe is great either, but it's better than the thirdgen.

I definitly think the 1st gen stripe would work better on the 3rd gen cause its more squared off. I might just have to order a set and see how it works.
