Billet Insert for SS Hood

Does anyone know where I can get a billet insert for my SS hood. I have seen them on some 4th gen SS camaros before but never thought to ask where I could get one. I have a piece of expanded metal in there now which looks ok, but I would really like something different. Any help would be appreciated.

As far as i know, you could mabey email Hawks Thirdgen, and ask for a custom job... or any billet grill places, or ditributers, (JC Whitney) just my 2 cents. In case you have not thought of these posibilities

Make your own. I made my own for the foglight openenings in my car. My car didn't come with foglights and I didnt' want sh*t blowin in there so I put a mesh if you will there instead. The mod has lasted 6 years now. Granted, 5 of those years my car was on jackstands more or less being put back together....

Re: Billet Insert for SS Hood

Can you find out if the opening on our hoods is the same size as a 4th gen? If it is, there is places out there that do make the grills for the 4th gen SS. Maybe get on a 4th gen forum and ask them?

I made one along time ago....I bought a billet grill for a mustang....trimmed it down....cut and fit..cut and fit...and it fit and looked great. Sold it for like 50 bucks.

Lowes should have some chicken wire or something close. Just cut it to fit and spray it.

yeah, sounds like your talking about the cheap mesh from autozone. I'm talking about Billet Aluminum......which was pretty expensive. The way I see it...if it's not made for our cars...make it yourself.

Re: Billet Insert for SS Hood

I also want the grill pictured above, or one like it. Does anyoe know who's car that is? I've pretty much given up on finding one anywhere. If someone could make one for me, I'd be glad to compensate...

Re: Billet Insert for SS Hood

if I would have known at the time I made this...I would have had no problem making a few extra...but sorry boys...can't take the car apart to make'em. If your good with metal...and can take a few measurements....you can do it.

Re: Billet Insert for SS Hood

Ok, well if anyone out there does make a few of them, I'd be interested in one. I'd do it myself, but I'm an amputee, so working with my hands is a little difficult...
