cutting braided hoses

cutting/hookin up braided hoses
i was just wondering which is the best way to cut braided hoses
im paying $150 for braided hoses i at least want them to look nice and not ****ed up when im finished
how do u hook up those cool blue and red connectors (6an) to the hose it self
any and all sugestions welcome
by the way it is steel braided if that matters

Just wrap them 2 or 3 times with masking tape at the point you want to cut them and use a hacksaw. Tape saves the day perfectly

I find using a dremel with a cut off wheel works best along with wrapping the section with tape where you cut. Perfect clean cut with no stray bits poking out. As far as putting the hose ends on, depends on what type you get. The hose should come with an instruction sheet or you can just look at the manufacturer's site. When you're putting those hose ends together, use a drop of oil on the threads and where the hose slips on to make things easier.

i just put tape on the part to cut and used side cutters.. then used that pipe grease **** to slide them on the hose.. use grease of somekind (not flammable) to put them on or they will look like ****.. then be sure to try and wash most of it off.
