I have used clearcoat mixed with black paint. The light shines through. Maybe mine are black enough, but i hate amber lights that much, that i wanted to be sure to get rid of the slightest glimmer of it. BTW, i like the RS taillights more than the iroc style ones. The grid taillights look crappy with the black colored amber part, and i do not like total black taillights.
Some of you mentioned that i should install the open/iroc grill. I will not, because i think the rs grille matches the iroc hood better, and it gives the car a meaner look. Maybe it is just me....

looks special, but since i installed brand new park lights on tuesday, i will let it be the way it is now. As i mentioned, i hate amber, i replaced the amber bulbs with white ones. legal or illegal, i don't give a damn

I think your the first to paint the amber black, I also hate the amber color. I hate to be a pain but if you have a better picture of your tails can you post them?

Car: '88 IROC Convertible
Engine: ZZ4 TPI
Transmission: 5 spd.
I have virtually the same car and was considering Boyd's wheels.
Have you had any problems with the rear tires rubbing; did you have to make any modifications to the wheelwells?
Other than that...congratulations, it must take real dedication to own/restore/modify an American car in Europe as I'm sure it is insanely expensive to do so.:hail:

The only thing that I would change is the interior. In my opinion, it would look much better black.
