RS to Z28 grill

RS to Z28 grill questions
I have a RS grill and just bought me a new bowtie grill whats the best way to put in on. It looks like it mounts a little different it has 4 bolt holes on the sides then two on top. Is that all it needs to hold it good. I cant remember exactly how my rs grill attached but i know it didnt have the holes on the sides. Anyone that has done this did you have to drill the holes in the bumper for the 4 middle ones. I think the RS grill just had them on top and in front where the license plate goes maybe even 2 on bottom. If ne has ne pix or info thanx.
Woo hoo new parkin lights also. oh another thing should i seal the parkin lights newhere better so they dont fog like the other ones did.

The grill mounts with the four holes around the center of the grill and two screws on the top. (I just held up the Bowtie grill and marked the four holes to be drilled) I also, replaced both front parking lamps and didn't use any other sealant on the lenses and they never have condensation or fog up.

All I did on my 89 was when I took the RS grille off I used the screws (they had a point, self tapping) and just lined the grille up and screwed into the urethane and it worked just fine

Looks cool! I attached mine with just four screws around the middle section and it holds fine. After about 14 months it still hasn't gone anywhere. With all the rain that just wont go away here in PA my parking lamps are beginning to get moisture inside them again , any tips? I've read that you have to drill out the bumper cover underneath to let the water come out better but I haven't had the time to investige it. Also, that mesh that you put in behind the grill looks really good, never seen that before, what did you use and how did you do it? Thanks!

Yeh drilling a hole might help but i just sealed mine up with silicone real good so nothing will get in hopefully. I got the grill mesh from advance auto parts its apc grill mesh. Then i cut the 2 pieces to the size i needed and attached them with self tapping screws into the rubber impact on the bottom. Then at the top where u cant see i bent it over and attached 1 more screw. Also did u use your top 2 screws on your grill i had to move the clips the grill screwed into over towards the outside a little there is another spot for them.

I've gotta pull the parking lamp lenses out and re-seal them, or make them drain better. As far as the grille goes I only used the four screws around the center to hold it on, holds strong, looks good
