Welcome to the boards! Thanks for stepping up for this mod. We might just be able to get this thing produced. With 6 for sure, I'll give Bruce a call. Maybe he will go ahead and start making the mold now! I wish i was up in PA. I would so take you up on that offer! B/w Joe and I we have what seems like a fleet of cars that we were planning on painting by the end of the year. Lets see....the 82 for starters, his 87TA, his fiero, my dually, mom's wagon, my pulsar, my Scout II, & some friends cars! If we had had till the end of the year like they said we would have been fine! Oh well! What are you gonna do?! Thanks for the offer though!

Oh and 85SportCoupeto89RS, sounds like you will have the negative version of my 82Ta paint wise. I'm going silver (pewter) with black flames that will fade as they go back and ghost into the pewter body!

It seems like were almost on the same design page, with the exception paint colors and yours being a TA and mine a Z28

I must say good job Redraif, you've been doing good with getting the notchback reproduced. Also it was lucky that you won it on ebay. So it will be $600 total for the unpainted notch w/glass? I'd have to put a 100 dollar down payment. Is there anyway after i do put the down payment, that i could make payments?

yes it's $600 for the notch unpainted and with fixed glass. for a little extra, you can get the kit to make the glass removable. as for making payments, you gotta talk to bruce. keep in mind you probably have like 2 months before it's available.

OK, so I'm 90% sure he going to go ahead and make them. Joe spoke with him the other day!

Bruce said the cut off date for the first 10 being made is July 15th. So get your order in. After that he will probably make another run of them, but is not sure when. He will have his fiberglass guy making other things and will probably make notchs as he gets groups of orders up. So if you order yours now you will be sure to get it ASAP. But if you wait for the next run, I have no idea when that will be!

So Shannon, does that mean he's not going to make this a regular item available, and he's only doing group purchases?

And if he is making it available, what's the price going to be if the group discount price is $600 now?

I'd love to get one of these, but I don't have the storage right now, even if I saved up the money, and it looks like I won't have a garage to work on a new f-body for somet time now.

Well I guess what I'm saying is I'm not quite sure how he is going to do it. Neither is he. To be honest, we were not even sure if the notch was going to happen. He has so much he is getting his fiberglasser to make (like the 5in spoilers) that he might decide to only do the notch in a GP fashion. Or he may have the guy make some extra to sell off little by little. They are still deciding! So its all up in the air. Right now this particular GP is a sure thing.

Hey w/o dreams the world would have no advancements! All it takes is a dream and some determination.

Ok, so this will not affect the world seeing as how its a part for a car, but geez! What's with the total dampers you are bringing in? Its not like we are cluttering the boards with multiple posts or anything. That's why I asked for a sticky! What gives?

True it has gone on for quite a while, but like it has been stated eariler. We had pages of people who would kill to have it produced. Well we all know how the rest goes.
I dont see why so few have joined in, 100 deposit and you've already paid 1/6 of your cost for the notch. Bruce is willing to let you pay it all off in installments. Say you only want to spend 100 or 200 a month until you pay it all off. Hes willing to do that, so everyone can have the opprtunity to join in on this.
I just started my own business not to long ago and things are tight but I see the value of having somehting so rare on my car so I'm willing to have less fun money to spend on something else. The rest goes back into the biz.

I wouldnt cry if it didnt get produced, I'd bawl like a newborn :sillylol:

do you mean to star up a business using free ads on message boards seems like i did not learn about that in LSU. No one is trying to start up a business using the message board as free advertising!? Don't know where you got that idea. All I'm trying to do is get something going that people have been jumping up and down for for a long time. If you don't do it this way people will not pay even be aware that it exists. Its my notch that is being reprod, I'm not getting any %s for this for it. And Hawks advertises here like everyone else...look up! If it was a problem the mods would have said something from the begining and not made it a sticky...

good lord, the controversy!

yeah, i hope it gets made.
yeah, i'll be upset if it doesn't.
actually, i'd probably try to make my own now that i got my heart set on having a notch... if this doesn't go off, and i can successfully make my own (i have a little bit of glass experience, but not enough to try this if i can pay to get it done instead), i'd be more than happy to share the molds with ya'll, or see about making them myself if it doesnt turn out to be too much of a PITA.

t/a girl: the car it was on was probably a civic del sol. they're like that from the factory. now quit raining on my parade, and go do something productive.

and from what i've seen here, bruce is going above and beyond when it comes to producing this for us. this isn't about free ads; he's been paying to put his banner here for quite some time. like someone said before, if it was a problem, the mods would have done something about it. he's trying to do help us do something fairly original (and in my opinion better looking than the other options that are available), and thats good enough for me. so what if hawk's gets plugged a few more times on the board? whether or not this works out, he's sure done plenty to earn my recommendation and business when it comes to other third-gen parts.

anyway, enough ranting. time to start celebrating the 4th a little early. there's a case of corona calling my name from the fridge.

I think she was directing that towards me.
I would be a paying advertiser if I could get in contact with Dirk or Brad. Emails, PM's have not been responded to in months.
"crosses fingers and hopes Brad or Dirk just read this"
If just mentioning my business name was bad then I will edit the post and put "Insert Business Name Here" in its place.

Anyways, why are you trying to derail the notchback train? I dont see why your knockin it so much. Its a win win situation for both the buyer and Bruce. We get a near to factory notchback and Bruce adds another proudct to his reputar and gets some biz too.
Even if the notchback isnt reproduced everyone gets their $100.00 deposit back so all you really did was temporaly loan money towards resreving a nothcback for yourself and the money was returend. If it gets repoduced you just paid off 1/6th of the total price.

this post was started to help get this notch made, as many people (even those who haven't put down a deposit) have expressed interest in it. this post thread is for people coming in to ask questions about the group purchase or about the notch, or for the people to let us know they're in or out. the thread was not intended for you to come in and offer us an ugly targa hatch because it's $5 cheaper, attack some peoples businesses, and make stupid comments to try and belittle us or our idea. if you don't have anything to say that would be of any value to anyone interested in this thread, please do not post. you are wasting your time and ours

t/a girl- They want a notchback, they are taking steps to get one made. If you don't like it, don't buy one. Stop cluttering up this thread please. Thank you.

Edit- Do I remember something about you working for ramairhood.com? If so, do not try and bring down this GP just cause the members don't like the notch offered there.

Tool.

Where did you go to school? I want to make sure my kids don't go there. What does "LSU" mean? Lame Spellers Unite? Lil Suck University?

Oh I got it: Loser, Shut Up.

You've done nothing but thread crap in here since day one. Get out. Unlike YOU, there are certain people that would like to see things happen and will work to make it happen. You would rather post inane comments and blatherings that help no one.

It's a shame I had to validate your existence with this post.

There's a phrase for a<x>ssclowns like you, you know... It's called "Attention *****".

Not a good thing to be. But it looks good on you.

I don't know how much longer this is going to be going on but I'm in the process of moving/starting a new job but if its still going on in a few months, which hopefully for you guys it will already be over, but I'd be interested in getting in on this.

Well we are going to run it thru the 15th of this month. Again you can put down a $100 deposit and then pay the balance once the Notch is on the way to you. Since it is still in the development stages, I would say it would still be a while before you would have to pay the balance, esp being one of the later on the list. So give Bruce a call and see what his estimated completion date would be. It might work out perfect for you! And again I'm sure he could work out some payment options for you guys!

As I said before its best to get in on this now. I'm not sure how he is going to work production on these items. It may only be periodic group buys, I'm not sure at this time.

yeah, has anyone heard anything? i'm sitting on that $100 right now, but i get paid on wednesday... trying to decide if i should wait till payday to get my exhaust put on, or if bruce is gonna want the money between now and then.

it sucks being on a limited budget. and i even spent $4 on powerball tickets, only to have someone 20 minutes from my house hit the jackpot. i always pick the wrong gas station to buy tickets at...

Edit- Do I remember something about you working for ramairhood.com? If so, do not try and bring down this GP just cause the members don't like the notch offered there.
if she works for ramairhood.com, that would definately explain a lot

sounds like this thing is going to be ready right when i start the body work on the trans am. in a few weeks the motor will be in, then the interior right after that. then the camaro gets a motor and some body work. after that's done, the body on the trans am gets started, and the notch goes on

I have been following this thred for a while and think it is a great idea. I am going to call Bruce tomorrow to get some finer details, and I will likely leave a deposit if I like what I hear. Anyone have any idea how many folks are now signed up?

Ok,

I put my deposit down today. Looks like we are all good to go! I sure hope this thing comes out perfect. This is one hell of a chance we are taking here.

Spoiler? Whassat? I don't think I'm going to go with one. I'd like to look into some kind of quick relase latch mechanism that will easily let me swap my original hatch for the notch and back and forth. But I don't think I'll put a spoiler on the notch.
