It's a pain in the butt when you have longtubes with a six speed. Also, you may want to get "angle" plug heads. I had to slightly mod the # 7 primary just to get a spark plug in my Vortec head's # 7 cylinder!

The SLP's are worse! They rub the steering shaft on most cars! You're going to have to cut / fit / fabricate stuff either way you go.

HAHA ..... back from the dead!
Sorry, just bored!
I may have some new pics in a week or so. I added the Z06 grill mesh material to the grill (to keep trash out the the ram-air boxes). I also powdercoated the wheels a Tiger Drylac color (mirror silver).
That's about all the appearance mods that have been done since this old post, but a bunch of other mods have been done since then (performance related).
So there ya have it..............for those who care!

Have you gotten any dyno numbers or ETs yet...I wanna see where ur sitting. I've got my 356 vortec TPI down to 13.00 @ 102...so I would hope you were in that ball park as well. Just wondering

13.0's aint too bad for an untouched vortec headed motor! Good job!
Actually I'm closer to low 12's as it sits.
Shooting for 11.9's with gears and a better clutch. The 3.23's and the six-speed makes for a WAY under-geared combo.
I fried the clutch on the first time out but it still ran 82 MPH in the 1/8th with fouled plugs (due to broken TPS sensor), fried clutch, and short shifting the whole way down the 1/8th.
I've fixed the TPS / plugs / engine mis-fires etc..... since that night. Once I get a REAL clutch, I'm gonna make a 1/4 mile pass or two and I'll post the timeslip.

Any dyno time yet? I agree, it is not worth it with broken or less than 100% parts on the car to be going out and getting "numbers".

Thanks man! I used to have a few buddies in Callalen. Been in the Houston area since '91 though.
No dyno-time yet, waiting on $$$ for a SPEC stage III clutch or an Exedy if I can afford it. Once the clutch is in, she'll be ready for dyno and some 1/4 mile action.
I think 400hp and 450ft lbs at the flywheel will be pretty close to the dyno results.
Since the scoggin-dickey vortec TPI crate motor makes 360hp 400+ft lbs at the crank, I have a bigger cam, higher flowing intake, more compression, my vortecs flow 280+ cfm after Sun racing went to work on them...... I think 40 more horse power than that crate motor should be pretty close to the actual power.
But, the car mostly sits in the garage and gets less than 1,000 miles a year out on it. Due to lack of money and time, the dyno/track results and actually being able to complete the project has been a REALLY slow process.
One day............
