paint help
Hi all,
I searched all the paint topics and there are so many views out there as to how to paint your thirdgen. Thought I would post what it is I want to do and see what people's thoughts are. I want to re-spray a red '89 Trans Am. I have some experience using a spray gun on vehicles and want the most bang for the buck. The body is good so for the most part I just plan to feather sand it to get it ready for the respray. Any spots that have needed to be worked on will be taken to the metal and then primed in that area. I will be taking all the vents, spoilers, etc off and painting them separately. My plan is 3 coats of base and 3 coats of clear. One issue I am debating is that the car has gray g/fx and I am going to paint them red. should I sand them down prime and then paint or is there a better, less time, approach to take. I am using Acryllic Enamel paint and adding hardener. I will also be adding a flex agent to do the g/fx, front clip and the spoiler. Any input would be much appreciated.
thanks
Scott

I feel like I am having a conversation with myself. Any thing that you would do different based on your experience. Last thing I painted was snow ploughs for the army in Camoflage green and my car needs to look sharp. Please let me know as I am starting tomorrow.
