I know in Virginia if you have them wired into the vehicle, it is illegal equipment...Most cops wont mess wit you unless u have them on, on the road, but it is still illegal...And if they are on there but not wired in properly or wires cut or anything, Its considered malfunctioning equipment...I had neon on my bug, and I got strobes on the Camaro...Only been warned though!

I'm pretty sure here in MN light covers are ILLEGAL....but then agian i have em on both front and rear and have never once been talked to about them......the previous owner said he was pulled over all the time for em......i guess it's just how you drive or if they are out to get you already.

Hey micro,
I told ya those marshall cops are dicks.
I got pulled over there with no front plate, while sitting there I counted 15 cars without front plates.
Take it to court, something similar happened to me with a rookie cop in Tyler who pulled me over for a 40 in a 30 zone. 5 miles out of town. Gave me a ticket, took him to court. He never showed up. I claimed my side to the judge and the case was thrown out and the cop was forced to put his 2 weeks in because he had been doing it before.
Its funny when the judge is red in the face screaming why the cop wasnt there. It was a good time! LOL

Well court date was set for this morning at 8:15 am......i get there and talk to the court administraitor and they ask how i plead, i said not guilty, and they tell me that we have to have this trial thing later. The other officer will be there, i can bring witnesses, and can either defend myself or get an attorney. They said they'd mail me with the date of the new trial. Is this how sh*t always works with tickets or what??

Hey, I was just thinking about this thread earlier at work today. I was going to search for it but I guess I don't have to now.
Yeah, that's the arraignment. You basically just state your name and plead guilty or not guilty (or no contest).
Although, I thought you got to set the trial date and time (within normal court hours of course) rather than the court. If you can, try to find out if the officer has a vacation coming up and schedule the trial date then. Trust me... no cop is going to waste his vacation to go to court unless he REALLY hates you.
