dimensions of radiator cap? need info!
can somebody tell me what information i should know when purchasing a radiator cap for my 92 Z28. what are the dimensions? 2 and 1/4? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

They're pretty much all the same
kind of a universal part
just look on the cap to find the holding pressure it's probably between 7 and 14 lbs then go to the store and buy a new one

Hey Alex, gm has some pretty decent looking rad caps, even with updated safety junk on it. Just snag one from there, its a stock rad cap you got anyways lol...
I remember since I was the one that had to tighten the damn thing lol

don't call me gay or anything but the reason i'm asking is because i want to buy this cool blue looking "BLITZ" radiator cap. but seeing as how they make parts for supras, i would think something would be different in the dimensions....

i think there all pretty much the same, i run a 10 or 11 lbs with the red tab..works good, i dont know what it does diff, but it was like 2 dollars, oh ya, my radiator had a leak with the 16lbs of pressure so i down graded, why are u buyin a new one?

Well I admit your rad cap was a bit tighter than normal, but I would blame that on the new rad.
The cap I would replace out of functionality, the newer GM caps are better designed to handle pressure a bit differently and a new cap will always work better than a 10 year old one.

Summit has a nice polished Aluminum one from CSI I think. The price wasnt to bad either. Much cheaper than the Be cool ones. But look just as good.
