Hood insulation??
Im looking for A hood insulation pad for my car, but im trying to find one that has a shiny front to it...to add for some dress up. Anyone know anyone who sells something like that??

jc whitney has some aluminum one side and felt pad insulation stuff on the other side. that is what i am using under the carpet. it was only 20 i think. might look into that.

yeah mine came from the factory with it...and yeah josh clips do hold the pad up. There flat black clips that clip right into the hood. Im trying to find them and im not having the best of luck. Im still going to look. Basically what i was trying to achieve was since im dressing my engine up and doing a few mods to it i wanted to have a hood insulation pad that was shiny so it didnt stick out like a sore thumb.

All thirdgens came with with padding. So if your car doesn't have one, some one tore it off.
I took my off because it always trapped dirt and left lots of dust in my hair when working in the engine bay. It also tended to severely scratch my hands and arms when I reach across the engine. I don't have any problems not having one.

does it take away any time it takes for the engine to warm up without that insulation there...cuz wasnt that the purpose, to keep the heat inside the engine bay?
