I was working for Year One/Next Generation when they got together with Hurst to build that thing (Hurst Hauler)...nice car, nice paint, too bad it has that awful station wagon thing on it! Yuck! Its not even practical, you can't carry any extra people or much extra stuff in the car. Want a cool GM wagon? Get a Caprice or Roadmaster, and slick it up a little. At least they're functional. Year One was trying to sell the conversion hatch for a while, not sure if they still do. They had one sitting in their showroom for a long time, with some ridiculous price on it (don't remember exactly how much).

Somebody posted on here awhile ago asking about one of those camaro station wagons. Said he was in a junkyard standing on the hood of a station wagon pulling parts off another car and when he looked down he realized it had a 2nd gen front end. I don't care what shape it was in I woulda bought the whole car.

the front doghouses on the f-body's and the g-body's can be bolted onto each other without to much problem. they also will fit on some of the other rwd models to without much modification.

then you have the companys that make the goofy lookinn iroc nose for the el camino, wich like i said will work on any of the g body's (montie, cutlass, regal) and mid 80's malibu (coupe, wagon, 4 door) will also accept these parts because they have the same dimintions as the others wheelbase width wise.

so therefore, that wagon at the top is not a montie ss, but a malibu wagon with the el camino iroc nose, and had montie ss wheels put on there.

the same company also sells gfx kits that look like iroc gfx's for the diff makes and models.

thanks
anthony

that's what i said earlier in the thread. what is so hard to understand about this car? the Malibu SS emblems were just put on to dress it up. im sure if you ask the seller he will tell you that it is a Malibu wagon with the Iroc kit on it...

OMG i love that top! that would be perfect to switch off of our normal hatch to that if we had to go on a vacation and took our cars we could switch tops and have more storage room and imagine how hard a system would hit with that kind air space. can anybody tell me where i can buy one of those tops for an 88 firebird? i want one so bad

The only cool thing i see about having that style of hatch is for if you have to move some stuff at end of year (I.E. dorm). Im tired of seeing that done to F-bodies, and i don't want to ever see it again.
