Is anyone's car here PERFECT???

I was wondering, does anyone's car here like have no dents, scratches, etc? Like IROCthe5.7L, Fyrbyrd, CustomX, etc. I was wondering.... are there little teeny weeny things that none of us can see in the pictures? Be a man, admit it Someone put a dent in my baby and I'd feel better knowing alot of others have small things that aren't perfect with their cars too....

Unless you buy a car and put it straight in a garage forever, you cant have a perfect car.. there's always gonna be some tiny flaw when examined under a microscope

let's see, I have a crack in the rear bumper cover....but my new one's gettin' put on and painted this week.

I have the typical little crack at the "t" bar on the roof. You can hardly tell, but I don't like it.

I have minor little dimples in the driver door....again, not bad, but you see it when the sun hits it right.

My front turn signals are all coudy.

Should I go on?.......but she looks good though, doesn't she!

They will never be perfect. Bought a 2003 Honda Accord EX and the first day I drove it to work, I walked out to go to lunch and found a 6" scratch in the clear coat. Not even a day old... must have happened at the dealer. Car came home, went into the garage, and was driven to work... Oh well.

Dude, that sucks... one day.....

2 or 4 door? The new 2 doors with the 6 speed manual, and what was it, 240hp? Those look nice....

I'm trying to massage stuff out of IROCthe5.7L, Fyrbyrd, all the poeple with these cars that look perfect... I wanna know if they have things wrong with theirs... hehehe... just want to feel better about my baby...

Couple of dings here and there, swirl marks, paint cracked in two small places, underlying damage in the body work in two places that shows through the paint.

That's only on the exterior.

There we go. Ions91Z28, your car looks perfect all the time... or at least it does to me. One of the people I'm trying to get to cough up and confess.

Ions91Z28, your ride looks very sweet.

The Accord is a 4 door. Fuel economy without fuel economy health risk (read... no compact cars!). My next job will require a 45 minute commute and the IROC would make it a painful drive.

Besides, now I can build the IROC without worrying about the limitations of a daily driver. I have to admit though, I'm considering a second generation Camaro. I have missed my 70 1/2 Z since I sold it upon kid one's arrival (18 years ago).

Mines far form perfect. In pictures my SC looks great, from 50 feet the SC looks real good, but if you get up reall close and at certian angles you can find my first time body work skills. I got a 50 min commute one way and thats with my lowly V6, shes skill kicking all the way and back

It's not how many imperfections you have... it's how many imperfections that you can hide . To date, my car's been skidded sideways up over a curb, through a yard, and into two street signs at 40 mph; backed into four months later by a Merc Grand Marquis; overheated (radiator blew up that time, threw coolant all over the car); nicked, keyed, and dinged; and drag raced heavily (destroyed my tranny). And I've had the car how long... a year and a half? The future looks grim . I kept up with the maintenance and you can't tell that anything bad ever happened to the car, even in person.

The sad thing is, a lot of the time Thirdgens are left to rot and decay.

I hate to break it to you guys, but cars roll off the assembly line far from perfect. My buddy's 89 firebird had factory bondo under the paint.

I'v got a 2"x2" area on the top of the rear 1/4 (under overhang of spoiler) that looks like acne, Body shop will fix it, just havent taken it back yet.

Where they painted the repaired corner of my hood (after the dear) you can see some sanding marks under the paint at certain angles, like it wasnt perfectly smoother before they laid down the paint.

Gotta 1/2"x1" Chip off of my drivers side GFX peice in front of the front tire.

and the only one that trully pisses me off is that I had my cover on and off over 2 months, some of the time it was on it was windy before I got a chance to take it off and I guess the cover sucks, i have tons of swirl marks that need to be buffed out.

Still looks GREAT, and turns just as many heads, just lil things that will be fixed one day.

Mine's perfect!

Actually, this past summer, I scored 199 out of 200 points at the Camaro Superfest in Michigan. The point lost was because of 3 stone chips in the drivers sideview mirror that had been touched up (by previous owner). The car was in the stock/unrestored class and touchup paint constitutes a piece of restoration. I had about a dozen small dings and dents, but since I do paintless dent removal, I removed them. I also burned the paint on the corner of the rear spoiler when hand buffing. The clear isn't damaged, but you can see the paint discolored under it about the size of a quarter. Other than that, my car just a few super small chips in the front fascia and 1 scratch on the bottom center of the rear fascia. Most people have never seen any of these flaws.

Your front bumper is a different shade

Its that way because its a light color and thats fiberglass or something? Same paint on different material lighter shades?

And just cuz there is oil in the driveway(which isnt mine), doesnt mean it leaks oil

My interior is FAR from perfect. She's cleaned up alot since I got her. My exterior has 1 count them 1 dent. And it's damn hard to find. My paint does have a few spots though. My wheels need to be polished badly. Theres some overspray I have to clean up from the last time it was painted. My t-tops need new outer plastics. I need a new spoiler mines cracking in the usual spots. I love it though. And despite how it sounds she looks good even up close.

Sagging door hinges, few tiny dings and one small dent, paint flaking on hood and roof and near spoiler, scratched tint, incorrect hatch glass after mine was smashed for stereo stuff, clouded turn signal lenses and thats just the body. Im picky with my cars and I know what mine needs but its far from perfect even if it looks good in pics...

No ones car is perfect unless it is day one or never driven.

the niterider is close to MY perfect. You know what I as the owner car except. some very minor chips on the lower front nose and a small tear that I can fix in the drivers seat. But other than that I get lot's pf compliments on looks. Now if i could get all the money back it cost to get those looks.

This is my car before the stupid girl put a small dent in my passenger fender.... I don't have any more recent pics yet. I think the dent is small enough it'll be hidden in pictures though. This is also before my new clear side markers, and new turn signals from Christmas...

Have you tried the paintless dent removal guys? They can do really nice work in an hour on a lot of dents.

Nice looking Camaro

Pics hide A LOT. My car looks great in pics, but the nose is spiderwebbing like crazy, theres swirl marks too. And a dent on each door and one on the roof. And the hatch isn't aligned right. Sounds bad doesn't it?

Not even close. Busted up gfx (and busted off in one spot now, dammit), peeling van Nuys(sp) paint, sanded front bumber, faded paint on the frame of my t-tops, rust on the inside of the roof of the car under the rubber for the t-tops, and some other odds and ends on the interiors. You know what though, i wouldn't think twice about buying it. I mean its a great college car/sports car, with some potential for some future modding and its got some decent go for now and resonible gas mileage.

I feel like we're all sitting around a campfire and bonding or something

First off, Scott Moyer, damn nice looking IROC.

Let's see, on my car: (appearance related only)
some dings here and there
ripples in the doors
barely noticable crack in rear bumper cover
foggy driving lights
t-tops need to be polished
bad body work on front gfx piece
hood was bolted up too tight and caused dimples on hood
couple of scrathces
swirl marks
cracked high beam light
fog lights aren't aligned right

Ions91Z28's car is pretty close to perfect. The only problem I saw on his car (in person) was a little orange peel and where he was hit by that white van.

Redraif's car's body is perfect and so is the paint. I didn't notice a single dent or flaw in any of the paint when I saw her car in person.

hmm...i think mine is FAR from perfect. lol

Well, i'm repainting the rear bumper at least this winter....hehe

No more yellow showing under my black paint lol. why would they make the fiberglass yellow??? at least a darker color would have hidden it more.

Hey Scrawnywhiteguy....

Thanks for the compliments!

My rims are good ole stock 88-90 Iroc rims with good ole stock gold paint. It came along with the beechwood interior and gold stripe/decal/emblems. The paint was done by the previous owner, but the gold on the wheels is factory. I think if I'm not mistaken, it's a little darker than the 85-87 gold.

And to elaborate on what Shagme said....If it's perfect to you, then it IS perfect!

Yeah, I just thought of that earlier today... how good is paintless dent repair? I'm gonna post it on the body board in a little bit...
I saw them on one of the hot rod tv shows. They can do great work!

nothing's perfect...ever...my '02 Z28 had/has minor fit/finish issues since the day I got it...but here's my baby...

Perfect doesn't exist. But I have yet to see a cleaner one in person anyplace.

No car is Perfect, even from the factory. Even the salesman make that standard statement that there may be some defects with a new car. So it may be New or as New or Junk but" NOT PERFECT".

I bet Fatals car is just about perfect. As for mine its has a few imperfections but I looks really good for the most part but alot of that has to do with it just being painted a year ago. Nice looking cars everyone. Got the love the looks of thirdgens. By the way customX is the dash completely done?
