there is a link posted today by roy , owner of thirdgenresource.com that is working on my car for the next 2 months...
i have dropped near 10 grand for this project, here is a list of some stuff being done:
1. New ZZ4 350 crate motor (355 hp 405 tq)
2. T56 out of a 94 Z28 with 23k miles
3. Jet Hot coated hooker long tube headers
4. New accel fuel injectors
5. Full new exhaust back from headers, im going to run no cats but im not sure which muffler to go with yet??? any ideas?? i want loudest but lowest tone.... suggestions and sound clips would be appreciated!
6. spohn crossmember / torque arm
7. Stealth Ram fuel injection
8. there is more i just cant think right now heh

are you gonna change the rear end , like a newer camaro rear or a build one or a ford nine inch, if you do put some 4.10 gears in it, they will kick *** for the street, and how about some subframe connectors.but other wise i like the looks of you camaro, i'm a 85 trans am guy.

Do you have 2 different sets of rim? I like the polished set like in the picture above but those are not the rims that are on you car now.
I was out and about Sat. and went by Roy's and saw your car and engine....its gonna be nice...You got a good group of guys working on your car....they wont let you down. I think very highly of the whole Thirdgen Resource gang...great bunch of people.

you should never leave good wheels on a car during an extended amount of shop time. that's why they aren't on there.
i agree with the intake though, what are they doing to remedy that?

Thats a nice list you got there, what kind of times are you expecting? I don't know about you but if I dropped 10 grand into my car, I'd get buried in it when i die And waiting two months is nothing, I wait 6 months every year when I put mine away for winter storage.

i agree with that....when i first started i waited almost 8 months for my paint to be finished. now i'm trying to rebuild the whole car in 6 weeks...

the stealth ram is suppose to JUST fit under the hood from what im told, i think a few people on here have it and it fit, if in doubt there is some problem i will just buy an ss hood and put iton there, i want to do that before thirdgennationals anyways, but it should fit.... thats what im told

well thats good to hear that you went by and saw it, i wish i lived closer and could do so....
the rims are off for the winter, i will put them back on when it gets warm out, i dont want that salt eating them up incase it snows or something, i have the stock z28 rims which are on there now, it was a 7 hour drive as well i didnt want to get the rims messed up in the drive, so hence another reason i took the vette rims off, but they will remain off for a while
i do agree with you thirdgenresource is very nice group of people, im hoping they do a very good job i would love to refer people to them and take my car back there, it was very nice of roy to post everything that is going on , on that webpage he made, it is a way i can find out whats goin on with it...

I have to say that would be a sweet setup. Nice top end power and a T56 should make a good freeway racer. But 10k man??
I hate to be the devils advocate, but I think you should really think this out before you go through with this deal. They sound like alot of badass parts, but did you make a project plan? Did this person from ThirdgenResource.Com sit down with you and help you come up with a plan? 10k is ALOT of cash to spend on aftermarket parts my friend. You should really think out what you're getting. There should be steps you go through when you mod. Subframe connectors should be the FIRST thing you do. The fact that the ThirdgenResource.Com guy didnt insist you strengthen the chassis first makes me wonder. What kind of suspension and brake mods do you have? Again, I hate to be the guy questioning things, but I just dont want to see a fellow 3rd gen enthusiast get burned. I have learned through previous projects that its best in the long run if you do things right the first time. Even if it means holding out on some parts while you make sure the car will be safe and handle the power. Nothing would be worse than having a badass setup like that but then later having a problem (i.e. twisting the frame, blowing the rearend, not having good enough brakes to handle the new power) costing alot of money to fix. I've been there before ... ... it sucks.

anyone else notice that the guy is going to drill and tap more holes into that motor's head??? You should buy new brackets not drill into them....they already have accesory bolt holes, what's going on? 10K for a nice motor and no subframes????? Geez, save up another $250 installed....you've already spent 10K

IMO-Yours is, by far, the best thirdgen I've ever seen. Now it'll have "go to match the show" as I heard someone once say.

t56 was 1900 , from a 94z28 with 23k miles... pretty damn good if u ask me... and then he said he would charge around 600 for labor to do it, which is considering my car is an auto right now ,and thats without me getting a new engine and anything, for JUST t56 he said 600

Me and 1991 Z-28 decided that subfram connectors can wait a little. Why do you have to sub-frame connectors immediately following the engine swap. It is not necessary for them to be installed right away, but i do agree that it will need to be done in the future when the car sees the drag strip and occassional weekend import hunting. When just crusing back home, it will be fine for a couple of months without sub-frame connectors. the estimate was $10k and is including installtion guys. the parts only came out to be about $7000. The 3k is to cover installation and misc. pieces and exhaust work. I didn't think that was a good idea either but maybe they know something that me and you don't. So we'll all how this goes. The rearend, The ZZ4 will fine for a 10 bolt to handle so ford 9" or 12 bolt is not needed. The rearend is planned in the future for it to upgrade gears at the same time.
10k is ALOT of cash to spend on aftermarket parts my friend.

yeah don't worry about it 1991 z28. the price your paying isn't cheap but it isn't out of the question.
i think alot of you don't understand what goes into making a custom thirdgen and the actual costs.......not singling crazyhawaiian out because i'm sure he does....it isn't cheap. especially if you can't do some of the work yourself.
i'm surprised it isn't costing him more.
sure you can piece things together and hope for the same or better performance but in the long run everything ends up the same.
engines are not cheap...neather are 6 speed swaps.
while i agree you should have subframes...that's your choice...although it only takes one good hard acceleration to twist.
those of you who think the price is high go out and truly look into something like this. you'll be surprised how quickly money disappears.

Yeah hey I'm not saying you're doing anything wrong. Just dont want to see you get ripped off. Sounds like a steep price. But it dosnt really matter what I think. What matters is if you like the end result. Sounds to me like the end result will be very very nice. You're right that the car wont need subframes right away. I'm sure it will be fine for a few months. But it would just worry me that my installer or mechanic wouldnt insist you do the subframes first. Makes me wonder if he is really trying to build you a strong setup, or if he's out to make a buck. Lets just say I would think twice about going with him/her. Your money, your decesion. Good luck!!

I'll speak up for Roy at Thirdgen Resource here, have you seen his LS1 swap 3rd gen. He is not out to just make a buck he enjoys this stuff. And he doesn't cut corners. Not trying to sound nasty but just replying.

very nice car i want those rims for my 4th gen. On the exhaust issue i have longtubes with a dr gas xpipe 3" with dynomax bullets and turndowns on my 4th gen. It sounds great its very loud and deep, i will definetly put that exhaust on my 3rd gen

i can't agree....i really liked their header...but i would have to say either a flowmaster or spintech. not that they are bad; they just lack in certain areas and tend to cost more.
as another choice i have magnaflows on the gtp which are nice but when we do them on v8's they aren't the same. i've heard them all and those two above have the best sound in all the ranges.
stay away from corsa ( i think that's the name) and borla...not that borla's bad but it's over priced and doesn't flow as well. it's like buying a 100 dollar polo shirt or a 20 dollar well made replica. just a name.
i personally think it comes down to the price you have to pay and who you know that's referring. unless you've heard one specific setup that's equal to yours it's all up in the air. the biggest thing that determines the sound is the chamber number and the number of outlets anyway.
you want it to sound great at any level go with a 2 chamber single out. my 3 chamber twin out was nice but only when i was in the prime rpm range...the rest of the time it sounded like stock setup.
i'll be going with a 2 chamber spintech with a 4" single out and possibly and electronic cutout just to upset the neighbors when i feel like it.
hell on wheels with the show!!

the headers were a major problem in fitting but finally they got on,
all thats left is the hydralic pump was bad, and hes putting a new one in, and hes gotta fix up the interior and all, but its running and its almost ready to go, i cant freakin wait im so excited

that WRX is going DOWN!!!!!!!! so is my roomates 3.5 ALTIMA!!!!!!!!!!!! they both beat my stock 305 z28, all i can say to that is... never again ..... never
trust me there will be some videos like no other on thirdgen.org from my car, a close to 400 hp z28 .... i dont think i can resist i feel sorry for my 400 dollar a peice back tires thou, they arnt gonna last long with that t56... i coudlnt exactly do much in my auto, but in the t56, i will be burnin em up :lala:

If you want some nice noisy and smokey tires, look at the BFG G-Force T/A KDW. They also hook awesome behind a T56.

If you want some nice noisy and smokey tires, look at the BFG G-Force T/A KDW. They also hook awesome behind a T56.
Here is a vid of ours if you haven't seen it yet. My brother drives the black 96 T/A in the vid and I did most of the shooting from the pass seat of my friends 95 Supra TT.

Cammed LT1 with a fogger setup. (I miss my LT4 parts would have been sweet in the car)

auto to t56 swap.... not cheap.... has hardly anything to do with the speed of the car, thats an easy 3500$ worth of all taht money spent... 2 grand for the tranny, then new clutch , pressure plate flywheel, etc. and all the labor work to install that, that was for purely JOY of driving !
so thats almost half the damn cost of everything, but i really wanted that done because a t56 will be so fun to drive,
then we have a brand new engine with a brane new stealth ram intake, doesnt run cheap either, but everything is new, and will last me for a long time and its a good investment for what i plan on doing to the rest of the car, so the money i spent on this is nothing compared to how happy i will be....
thats all that matters
