as for emissions, im not worried about it being to loud, which it definetly is anyways lol, but someone just PMed me from MD said his friend lowered his car to the point where they couldnt fit it on the rollers and they waivered him for 5 years, thats what im looking into now, doesnt sound likea bad idea, specially if the guy is from baltimore likeme and has a thirdgen, im gonna go with this guy

Damn, if you guys find someway to get out of emissions testing around baltimore let me know please. I have a job over there that I will start when i graduate in May, so I will be moving over there around July. I will need to get my car inspected over there so it would be great if I could find a way to avoid the problems.

I think so long as it is running correctly, you should be okay. They don't really look at things unless you fail, except for if the converter is present.

give those guys about a week to get back to you, they are really busy and very under-employed. i went up there alittle while ago to pick some stuff up. i saw your car there jason, it is bad! they started it up for me, it was probably close to 1 month ago. i have a question for you jason, was there anything wrong with the tranny that was in your car before the zz4/t56 swap? yeah, i am the one that bought your old 700r4, that's why i was wondering. i pulled the pan off when i got home and it was in dire need of a fluid change. was it is good condition when you pulled it out? i am assuming that it was because you drove the car there from your house.

I rode in the car a few times before we drove down and the tranny shifted fine to me. There was no slipage and i figured it was in pretty good shape considering how jason babies his Z. It made it to Thirddgen Resource with no problems and have confidence it could of made it cross country too without any problems. Let me know when you swap it in and how it works to you.

absolutely right, the weather makes everything hard to work on if its cold, windy, rainy or too freakin hot. My dad is building a house soon with a lift in the garage and air tools. Its my dream come true and his. LoL

hey man, no the tranny was perfect, i never had any problems with it at all, glad to hear you bought it, you should definetly be pleased, the engine and TPI are still there for sale, im suprised noone has picked that up yet

i paid $875 for everything needed ( pedals includes) but the aftermarket crossmeber to swap to a t56. you got RIPPED

although i plan on doing the install my self.

Keep in mind though, everything was new. So the parts are going to be alot more expensive than the used stuff I (and you probably) like to buy, and they will probably last a very long time with proper maintenance. I recently had the choice of choosing between a 93 T56 (with the awesome ratio's) used for roadracing with over 100k miles for $1000 (complete kit), and a brand new T56 with 0 miles for a little over $2000. I opted to go with the new tranny because I just didnt trust a used tranny on my daily driver (will be 500 wtq soon). So I end up paying more, but I can rest assured I wont get stranded somewhere on my way to work. I basically paid for peace of mind.

Garage is not needed, but very nice and allows you to work in inclement weather. If you have a lift in the garage, that'd be ideal with air tools.:lala:

i agree buying new parts, just gives you a better peace of mind... thirdgen resource did suggest alot of things, and it was my option to go with no cats and all taht nonsense, i chose for the car to be very emissions illegal, stupid yes. but hopefully i can find a way out of it, they did good work on my car, alot of things were not finished, but i was in a hurry to get my car back, was tired of waiting and wanted it for some up coming car shows, things like my cruise control, heat dont work....

i did spent quite a bit of money, but it was really most in the parts, the labor was not expensive , it was very reasonable, it may not be the best work in the world, but it certainly is good and worth the money i spent...

major problem right now is
the car is running SUPER rich, we cant figure out the programming, thirdgen resource was unfamliar with programming so im having my friend do it, but not easy stuff

$875 sounds like a pretty good deal. Most packages i see go for around $1500. Our $1500 went up to about $2000 because of the new clutch, hydraulics, machined the flywheel, pedals, etc. The package we got wasn't as expected so we had to get some new parts that added to the swap. The actually cost of the tranny swap was more like $2500 and not $3500. That was just a figure thrown out.

nope the stock 7730 ECM, This ECM works out great, no need to upgrade in computer.

good deal jason, i am glad to hear that your enjoying your car, all the little stuff will get takin' care of in due time. also, thanks for taking care of that tranny while you had it. i have so much to do on my car right now, i haven't been able to drive it at all, the bearings in the bottom end of my 350 seized upon initial rotation. oh well, the 305 should go in after a little bit. the 350 will get rebuilt soon, i haven't decided if i want a high winding 302 (350block/283crank) or a 383 torque monster, i like torque alot
