A simple WHY? Question
This is to all the RS drivers out there. Why is it, or should I say, have any of you noticed this before? You park your car outside on a cool night and you get a slight frost/dew on your hood. Why is it that you can see the impression of the location of the louvers/blisters on the standard hood? Anyone else noticed this before, or is it just me? Why would this show up on the standard hood?

your car might of had the aftermarket louvers that are desighned for the rs hood, stuck on there with magnets or something, would be my guess.

I noticed this last winter when it was just beginning to snow, I could see the area that formed perfect blisters...I took a picture of it, let me try and find it.

This car isn't the only RS I've ever owned. I've got another one that I've had since new. It shows the impression as well, so it's not anything aftermarket.

Ive seen this before with the trunk impressions on a Dodge intrepid, you could see where the beams where in the trunk under the sheet metal when it was cold. Bout the same thing im guessing is going on here with this. Where there is metal under there that is just a bit warmer than the cold air under the hood or trunk in my case, causing it to condense in that shape.

Hold on let me go to see if any snow is on my car.....
NOPE sorry can't help ya....
Anyway, It's probally the metal under the hood that's causing this since i'm assuming the 3rd Gen hoods are basically the same.....

what it is, is that all of the hood skings are attacket to the same hood bracing, and there for it causes the area that is touching the hood bracing not to warm up and cool down as quickly causing it to fog(for lack of a better word) then when it snows it causes it to freeze difrent where it has diffrent amounts of frost/warmer/colder areas of the hood.

damn, all this time I thought I was imagining things...or maybe the car was trying to tell me something...about what it aspires to be when it grows up.

LOL I'm just happy that I'm not the only one having these thoughts. So the answer to my original question would be that underneath the standard hood is an IROC just wanting to pop out eh? I wish, but anyway, so you all are saying that underneath the sheetmetal, the hoods are identical? What's really funny is that you can even make out where the bolt holes are that the louvers/blisters attach to. Thanks for the replys, I feel much better now.

I've never noticed this before! I think tomorrow morning I'll have to go check mine out, if there isn't any ice on the car, been in the 20's the past couple nights.
Is there any kind of extra sheet metal under the hood the same shape as the blisters/louvers for the blisters/louvers to bolt to?
At least now if you want to add blisters or heritage stripes or something you know how to align it perfectly
