Paint
Hello to all, I am new to this board. Trying to decide what color to paint my 91 Camaro RS, its currently Teal and see WAY too many around here. I am debating on either green or blue. IF anyone has a green or blue Camaro could you post some pics. for me to view so I can see how they both look????? Thanks a bunch, ~Twix~

But you asked for blue or green, and I like both, especially polo green. If you repaint it, get it done right though and paint the engine bay and door jambs.

Well searched thru a few topics, NO green cars. A lot of blue though, so looks like it will more than likely be green as I'm looking for something a little different & eye catching. Yes it will be done right, under the hood will be getting gutted so all that can be done.

Maui Blue? Ohhh man that's awesome. I put that in my list for possible colors, saw one driving down the road (done poorly) and sort of scratched it off; but it's definately back on. Awesome car, awesome color.

when we painted mine the color was a-cayman metallic blue from a 72 ford. its pretty much teal but its got metallic in it that really makes it shine in the sun but my pictures were taken on crappy days. I kept it this color so my car will be a sleeper when i build the motor for it. The motor will lope a little with the cam i chose but then people dont know who they are racing.

Thanks so much for all the pictures. I do like that green, but its probably out of my budget.
as for staying with teal vs. not staying with Teal, I'm fixing to start showing it Locally (after a few more mods) and well Teal is just tooo common around here. I want something different and something thats eye-catching. There are 6 or 7 Teal Camaros around here that I know of and have seen, so no telling how many more I haven't seen yet.

actually, paint isn't that expensive depending on your choices.
what's your price range realistically and i can tell you exactly what you range is.
remember that a color change is most expensive because of matching the engine bay, door jambs, etc.
if you don't want to do these little parts don't think about showing the car anywhere.

Okay the more pics I'm getting the more I'm like blue, especially the viper blue. Decisions decisions!! LOL!! Budget isn't exactlly decided yet, gonna TRY to get it painted in spring/summer and will just have to see how money is then. ALL of the car will be painted, engine bay, door jams, I'm real big on stuff "matching". So a teal engine bay with viper blue paint on car I'LL PASS!

so your looking on average of 3,500-5,000 for the paint then if your going to do a complete color change and make it look good.
well, you can get just about any reasonable color in that price range....
good luck with it!

Well its a toss b/t the viper blue with white racing stripes OR green (not sure what shade) with tribal flames. Gotta get a hood to install my blisters in, get a new left front fender (mine has previous damage to it before I got it) Looking for a 4th gen. console and seats. Lots to do....
Paint me & my fiance will be doing all the labor so it will be a tad cheaper then if I went to a body shop and had it done. So that saves me some $$$$.

alot of it is in the prep work more than anything.........while my body was in great shape; i had quite a few little custom things done as well as it was stripped to metal and there are 7 different colors and over 12 layers of product.
it all adds up, it isn't like just sanding down your stock paint and applying a primer and solid coat with a clear that is only 3-4 layers.
not to mention the skill to keep the red clear level is very important the slightest overspray on a certain area and the color will look blotchy and uneven.........stepping up to candy is a whole nother ball game. but when it's done right man is it beautiful and a extreme eye catcher.
i don't care if you like candies or even the color red, when you drive a candy red car everyone looks.
