so no one likes ram air hoods?

From my last post I'm begining to believe that the Ram Air Hood doesn't look good on Camaros? The picture they provide on Firehawks.com isnt very good. I'm looking for a few good pics of people who have Ram Air Hoods. So without further adu.... LETS SEE THEM RAM AIR HOODS!!!!! YEE HAW

I dont like them on Camaros. The hood just doesn't follow the lines of the car and it's way too bubbly for the Camaro's boxy look. It looks way out of place on thirdgen Camaros. It's ok on Firebirds but I'm still not a huge fan of it. I think the best looking aftermarket hood for 3rd gen Camaro's is ASCD's SS hood.

Look
ASCD SS HOOD

I think the ram air hood look awesome...on Firebirds and Trans Ams that is, it looks nappy on a Camaro. The SS hood is made for the Camaro, just like the Ram Air hood is made for F Birds & T/A's.

I think the ram air hoods look out of place and the lines aren't right with the camaros. With the Firebird/Trans Am's they look great, but I am not a big fan of the Ram Air II hood. I think they look to big for our thirdgen cars and they look mismatched with the body style...but thats just me. I think the Ram Air I hoods look the best but not on Camaros....the ASCD SS hoods look great though on the camaros.

The view by most people is that Ram Air II hoods belong on Firebirds only! The look aggressive on a Camaro, but look oddly strange. Ever see one on a Civic? Not exactly eye appealing.

I like the hood, but not on a thirdgen Camaro. It goes a little better with a Firebird, but still not that great. Its too curved. Thirdgens have more of a boxey appearance.

If you look up tomster03 in the readers rides he has one on a gunmetal gray camaro. I saw the front end shot and it looks bitchen, but when I saw a side shot I have to agree it does look a little out of place on the camaros bodyline. Maybe if someone custom made one that blended into the camaros bodyline a little more that might really look sweet.

I agree I do not like the ram air hood maybe if it was more subtle and a little squarer [if thats even a word]. I am starting to like the "camaro ss", and "big block hood", especially with the 91-92 wing and gfx

At my college there is a maroon B4C Camaro with a Big Block hood from ASCD. It looks better in person than in the pictures I've seen, but I still like the SS hood better. The top of this guy's hood is painted black but for some reason he left the stinger maroon, it would look alot better black

Thanks for all the input. I'm still undecided. I see what you mean it looks better on firebirds with the curves and all but I still think it's kinda cool. I'll give it some more thought but I've got lots of time to think about this so keep the pictures coming. Thanks.

I checked out the ASCD SS hoods and I think they rock. But (always a but) how would they look on a convertible without that bitch'n '91 Z28 spoiler? Decisions... decisions

there is a guy on the boards w/ an SS hood on a vert. It looks real good. He has some TT II's too. I don't know why, but his name escapes me right now.

hey i wish i came acrossed this topic earlier.. i think the RamAir II hood is all in the eye of the person biulding the car. when i started looking at hoods i came down to the SS, cowl, or ram air. I do like them all and i think they all look great but i chose the ram air over all just because i wanted somthin alittle differnt. it puts a twist on what people see when they think of camaros. I have never had a bad complaint on the hood other than the Girls in the back seat saying they cant see over it.... I dont think its to big i meen its onley 2 1/2 inches. when people see it in person they love it... just alittle insite from me
here are some pics...

my ram air II

My car isn't as nice as some of you guys, but I am proud to drive a thirdgen camaro. Here is a pic of a ram air II hood on a 91 Z28 Camaro convertible. Does anyone know where to get an aftermarket front spoiler?

I think Ram Air II is sweet, I like them on Camaros and like them even more on Firebirds.

I think they look good on cars that have something in the back of the car to help balance it out and bring the car together. Which is why I am getting a Ram Air II hood and a fourth-gen style (higher than stock) wing in the back, so that it all comes together. It will be on my 1991 Formula, so I've got the more curvy body style as well.

That RAII hood is just WAAAAAYYY too much hood for a thirdGen. ANY thirdgen. FyreLance, that car is awesome, but the hood is still just too much for me. The SS hood is a bit much, but not bad. The RA1 hood is cool.

I think a 2" cowl if you gotta go aftermarket. If not, the stock Z28 or IrocZ28 hood is the best looking.

Just because they make it, doesn't mean you have to buy it. Just my 2 cents.

I personally like the Ram Air II hood on both birds & maros. I have a 91 RS. I want to get the RAII hood, but I also like the 2" cowl hood. I like the way the RAII hood and the 5" spoiler would look. Any pictures??? So many choices. I do not like the Big Block hood and I don't really like the way the SS hood looks on some cars- mainly coupes, but they look great on verts!!

Doesn't fit just perfect in the front, but nonetheless...I love it.
