Painting wheels, need tape tips.....

So, I just got some 15" Z28/RS wheels and I want to paint them black. I want to leave the machined lip and edges unpainted so......do you guys have any tips for tapeing off these areas??

I've never seen anyone do it so I'm a little confused. It just seems like there's no neat way to do it. Also, do you guys use masking tape?

You should use a special painter's masking tape. The kind that will hold strong on the edges and a remove cleanly when finished. Make there are no bubbles on the edges of the tape so that paint doesn't get under the tape.
