20X10 inch rim?

just some info
20's and a drop you will have major rubbing, even with 35 series tires. 20's on stock height and 35 series almost tuck but ppl with that setup (there r a few on these boards, and no photochop jobs) report no rubbing. you can get away with 18's on 40 series rubber and a 1" drop. powermite runs 18's on 40 series rubber with the eibach pro springs with minor rubbing. as far as 10" wide wheels, definately not on the front. Widest you should go in the front to avoid rubbing is a 9 - 9.5 inch wide wheel and a 265 - 275 width tire. and thats pushing it. but people have been able to get 17x9.5's in front with 275/45/zr17 tires, so 18x9.5's should fit with 265/40/zr18 (thats what powermite runs in the front with minor rubbing). In the rear you can fit 10's if you roll the lip. CarNDriver had 17x11's in the rear with the lip rolled. His car was dropped too. I would recommend a 9.5" wide wheel in the rear running 285 - 295 width tire.

Chevy High Performance did an article a couple years ago and fit various wheel and tire combos on a 3rd gen. I think the 18x10 had a 6 inch backspacing on the rear. 18x9 on the front with a 5-1/2 inch backspacing.
This is from memory but I'm 90% confident it's accurate.

The profile is so low on a 20" wheel that you can kiss anything that resembles traction goodbye.
And personally I think it's ridiculous looking, but that's just my opinion.

I was looking at the boyd coddington smoothie 2's im getting those rims... Crazy, do you think the 20X10's in the back will fit better with the Evo package?
These rims are for show and not got ladies and gentlemen.... I'll be fitting some centerline hellcats or something for the races... Those weld 2.0 racing rims also looks sweet

Well if its going on the Evo, then thats a different story. K1 recommends the rear width (with the stock offset backspacing) to be 13.5 inches wide. They recommend that width because the rear of the evo kit is 6 inches wider than the stock camaro rear (3 inches on each side). So if you wanted to go with a 10 inch wide wheel, then you would need a custom backspace / offset to make them line up with the kit. I recommend you just go with the 13.5 width on stock backspacing/offset and fill those rear wheelwells with some fat rubber.
When I do my Evo I'm planning on 19x8 w/ 255/35/zr19's for the fronts and 19x13.5 w/ 345/35/zr19's for the rears (Bridgestone's of course).

I'm not going with 20's because I dont feel safe running 30 series tire and 35 or 40 series would cause too much rubbing. Originally I had planned to run 18's and 40 series. That seems to be the best 'big wheel' choice on our cars. But then I decided to go even more extreme and try for the 19's (looks better ...). As far as choosing the tire size, generally when people with dropped Camaros run 17's they run 45 series rubber, 18's run 40 series ... keep it going ... 19's run 35 series, and 20's run either 35 series or 30 series. I'm going with the 19's because with the 35 series rubber they shouldnt rub too bad, and thats the smallest sidewall I feel safe with. To run the 20's I would have to think about 30 series rubber and I just dont trust it. But as far as rubbing, my Evo will have coilovers so I will be able to adjust the ride height ... maybe another thing to think about if you want to run 20's. And I'm a fan of running the same size wheel front and back .. I dont like bigger wheels on the back (tho alot of supercars come that way). If you do run bigger wheels in back, be sure to even out the tire sizes so they have equal total size.
And my wheels will be from Boyd Coddington

I was thinking of getting new rims too. Whats the biggest 15 inch rim I can fit in the back. Will a 15x12 fit. I have an 88 GTA. Also, if I get a reverse wheel what does that do? Im a little new to this wheel thing. I just want the biggest tire and rubber in the back wuithout rubbing. I plan on getting MT street slicks. Thanks

you dont need a massive wheel if you're going to run mickey t's there are plenty of cars with 7.5 in rims that have stuck the fatest micky t they can muster on there and are running 10's the more the tire bulges past the rim the more sidewall flex you'll get.
in drag racing sidewall flex is good (this is a relative term dont run your radials at 12 psi), during high speed cornering sidewall flex is a BAD thing
