I do not know where to post this so I am posting it here. Feel free to move it if you need to but please do not lock it.

I have been a member of thirdgen.org for a little over 2.5 years now and have been very impressed by the site and the people that are on it. The entire site provides a wealth of knowledge and gives our hobby and love of 3rd gens a sense of community. I must say that all of the people that bring us this site and work hard to keep it up and running and current definitly get a big thank you from me. But with this site providing a sense of community it seems as more time has gone on I have seen more and more threads being closed due to the fact they are not "technical" threads. I will admit, some of these needed to be closed due their content and bashing of other people or hobbies. But I do feel that some of these did serve our board well and was good to see. Some of the threads that are repeatedly closed are threads showing 3rd gens with different body kits and people would get on and bash them to death eventually causing the moderator to lock the thread. And, more recently the car and girlfriends thread. Like anything that anyone is proud of, most guys on here are proud to display pictures of the things they love in their lifes, their cars and the girl that are with or married to (not nessascarily in that order).

I can understand the idea this site is founded on, to be a technical resource for 3rd gen f-body owners and enthusiasts. With this in mind I propose a new forum be created for everything else that can not be given a label. We need a forum that is not a tech forum. A forum that if you find something that might be of interest to people on this site and would like a place to post it, that would be the place. I do agree that bashing of someone else's ideas or opinion should be locked. Life is too short and server space is too valuable for people's rude and crude comments. If you dont like something, thats fine, you dont like it, but dont bash it. The posting of import pictures and bashing it has to be the biggest waste of time and space, if you want rice and bashing, go to www.riceboypage.com

I would like for people to post their opinions on this idea. I am an active user of the site and I enjoy all the features it offers. If I need to email this idea to someone please give me their address and I will. I do not mean to cause any trouble by posting this but I just think some thought should be given to this. If another forum is not created, oh well... atleast I tried.

This comes up about once a month and we are not interested in a nontech board. We have tried this and it was not worth the trouble. If you want nontech I suggest one of the other thirdgen boards. I recommend www.nethirdgen.org but there are many others to pick from.
