Strongest rim cleaner please....
What's the strongest over the counter cleaner or other product to get to clean rims on a 1991 Firebird Formula, the WS6 type rim , like the blue one on upper left corner of this screen? I need to clean mine because I havent had the time to clean in so long, they are pretty damn dirty now. Andy

"over the counter"? As opposed to prescription rim cleaners?
Try Eagle1 aluminum cleaner. It actually reacts with the aluminum to get down past the surface a bit. I've always had good luck on my old Cragar rims with that stuff.
If not then you could probably try one of those aluminum eating engine degreasers, then follow up with some aluminum polish.
Ideally, you should treat your wheels exactly the way you'd treat your paint. In other words, wash with 100% cotton, nothing abrasive, no chemicals you wouldn't put on the paint, wax it regularly. If you do that, then your wheels should stay pretty clean or be easy to rinse off.
But we know that the old factory wheels tend to get pitted and cracked/glazed clear coats and that just doesn't work. Your best, but most work intensive option, is to polish those wheels. Follow with some clear coat if you wish, but most opt not to.

if you want something that doesn't do much damage (or none at all, but still read the label) I bought "bleech brothers rim cleaner" good stuff

Aircraft remover? That must be some pretty strong stuff if it can remove aircraft.
:lala:
I used some stuff in a black bottle (don't remember what it was) from the car parts store, it was for cleaning wheels. it worked ok, but my wheels have been abused for years so it only got them most of the way. maybe repeated applications will get it.
