Last pics EVER of my IROC..
..on American soil!!
Our 40ft. container arrived today to pickup our stuff as we (my wife and I) are getting ready to move to Europe. The IROC naturally comes along, and I just had to take some pics while loading her in the container.
In order for my baby to look her very best when arriving Oslo in a month, I polished everything last night.
The next pics you all see of her will be in the new Homeland!
(sorry dial-up'ers)

I guess I've never considered how you would get your car into a container. Thats a damn good idea loading it on a tow truck like that. I would like to tell you that your 'Vert Iroc is just drop dead gorgeous. Good luck on the move!

I sure hope your not moving to England, my bro-in-law was stationed there for 3 years and he'd bring back video tape of people driving-WOW. They're some none-drivin MF. So if your going to England keep that bad bitch in the container, and charge admission to let the foreigners see what a sweet pony car is all about. Good Luck!

I hope you are military, gas over there is about $4 a gallon!!! Just remember the raods are very tight, not much for room and give room to the motor cycles, they will pass you. (As you are just crusing, they ride fast.) Looks great, and good luck.

Have fun in Europe..you'll be the third total F-body over there..I've been here on vacation for 2 weeks and all i've seen is one 2002 SS, an 88 GTA Notchback that was beat to hell, rusty and all that good stuff, a Z06, and an older viper..not much in the way of american sportscars..you'll most likely turn ALOT of heads on the weekends..

Ken, I'm really sorry we weren't able to get together before you had to leave. I hope the move goes well for you and your wife and of course for the IROC. We all know you will be back visting the in-laws and when you do you'll have to shoot me an email. Even if it's winter time we can still get together somwhere for lunch and a beer. Of course the IROC is looking great as usual. You've done a great job with the car. See you at ChevyWorld.
Oh yeah, it only took me ten minutes to load this thread. LOL

Moving to Europe! I haven't been on the boards much other than the SW Regional Board because I just moved myself and have been very busy but surely I haven't been gone that long. Well, anyways that's a pretty smooth idea how you guys loaded the IROC into the truck and I wish you and your family the best of luck on you journey to a new home. Let us know when you get there so we'll know you made it safely.

Wow!
Thanks a lot for all the thumbs up and kind words on my ride etc!!
I'll try to answer all the questions :
IROCThe5.7L,
Thanks man!
YOURSOSLO,
Thanks!
Mark,
Sorry LOL! I figured someone would get worried
zupmanZ28,
We're moving near Oslo, Norway. Im originally from Norway, so it's my "home country" but new to the wife.
Im assuming you are referring to the red brick house? It isn't mine unfortunately. This is in front of my in-laws house which is seen in the background on one of the last pics (the light gray/beige brick house).
88ROC1LE,
Thanks! I'll definitely be back and with more pics too! The scenery will probably be quite different though .
Barrett,
Thanks, and sure thing bud! I'll be glad to try to get one made for ya', all I'll need is an old front plate of the controls to use as a templet.
JAY4SPEED,
Yeah, I was wondering too how they would do it - and thought that was real clever. Notice how they used a second tow truck to LIFT the flatbed with the IROC on it up enough that we could get it on with some small ramps. Thanks also on the thumbs up on the car and the move!
83firebirdS/E,
LOL, thanks man! I hope to at least turn *some* heads! That would be way cool! I can't wait to enter it in some shows over there, that should be fun. More pics it is! :-)
Quick6,
LOL, sorry dude - but thanks for the thumbs up!
IHI,
LMAO, that's some funny stuff man! Nope, not going to England, and I'll take note not to put it on my "country-to-visit-on-car-vacation" list...LOL
no_car_yet,
Maybe not quite like a Lambo, LOL, but one out of 4 ragtop thirdgens in the country will do for me!
1992_25t_1letpi,
Thanks man!
88Bravo,
Nope, not in the Service. And, make that ~$6/gal. in Norway..*shrug*
Im used to it though. I lived there for 25 years, so I'll be fine in the traffic. Actually, the curvey roads are one of the things Im really looking forward to with the IROC. It handles very well, so the straight highways here in Illinois is not a challenge at all
MetalliCamaroRS,
Thanks bud!
Sauron91,
LOL, that might be a little on the low side I have owned another f-body over there before so there is at least 4!
Fred91TA,
Yes, they are TT2's in 17x9.5 dressed in 275/40's
Thanks!
Les,
I am REALLY sorry we couldn't make it to meet up man. I had been looking forward to meeting you and Randy. Actually the two of you should've been here today as it was a car show in town. I had forgot about it until the last minute so I didn't make it there - and it sure enough was my luck that the first car show ever in town while I've been here was the day after I shipped my car across the world! ..
Anyways, yes - we WILL definitely be back on a semi-regular basis, and I'll be sure to shoot you an email when it gets close so that we can meet up then - even though I won't have the 'ROC with me. And, as I mentioned on ChevyWorld.net, as soon as I get situated over there and get my PC up and running again, I'll be online as much (if not more *ugh*) than usual and we'll keep growing over there, just as if I was here in IL!!!
1991tealRSt-topGuy,
Thanks man, I appreciate your thumbs up and wishing well!
jobryan26,
Thanks man!! Hope things went well with your move as well. Moving is FUN ain't it? LOL Never knew I had that much crap!
I think thats all!
Again a BIG Thanks to all of you for the kind words and also all the great help and info I've gotten here at the site while I've been in the US for the past 4 years! And, Believe me, when I get over there as a lonely thirdgen'er Im gonna need you alls help more than ever when trouble shows up...LOL
Ken
PS! I PROMISE I'll get on the finishing job on the Thirdgen Apperance guide when I get situated over there in my new job, now that Im finally done with College!!

Ken,
Fantastic car!!!!!
You'll probably already know that Norway and Sweden have a pretty active US car scene, as does Belgium (a bit far to go probably). Having worked and driven in mainland Europe I know they drive a little more chilled out (except Italy and all capital cities), and IHI's observations about UK driving were spot on. There are lots of yanks over here, but people just don't use them as daily drivers, partly because somebody else will wreck it for them!!
Good luck ken. Maybe you can cruise over to central England for the AAC summer Nationals.

Amazing how [q]some none-drivin MF[/q] managed to build the McLaren F1 and produce the technology behind the majority of F-1 and the Rally Cars.
It isn't bad over here at all apart from the horrendous gas prices ($6.80 per gallon )
Hey uk89camaro- I am going to the SummerNats this weekend, maybe see you there. I will be pissed from about 3pm on Friday. Look for the white IROC-Z with quad pipes.
ChevyKen, good luck that is one sweet car! See you over here?

Thanks again for the very kind words!!
I don't know if I'll make it to England anytime soon (well actually I WILL drop by London on my flight over..LOL), but the Autobahn sounds VERY tempting. We'll see!
I am very aware of the car scene in Norway/Sweden though, and plan on attending quite a bit there. Not sure how much I get to run around this summer as its gonna be at least mid-july before the car even gets to the country - and then it is all the mess before getting plates on her. But next summer I will for sure be cruizin' a lot!

Man ChevyKen, every time I see that car I like it man. You have definitely got it lookin good. Your car is one of the ones that inspired me to put TTII's on my Z. Man, you got to wait till mid July before you see the Roc again, that will seem like forever. Well good luck in the homeland.
