Two-tone paint: Good or Bad?

I don't know if this has been addressed before much, and sorry if it has, but I'd like some comments on the general two-tone paint scheme. My car has it now as you can see and I kind of like it that way, it's not too much of the same color, but I'm getting it repainted hopefully.
If I do, I'd really like something similar to whoever has the Corvette Electron Blue/gray on bottom scheme. Has anyone repainted their thirdgens two-tone? I'd definitely appreciate pics!
Also, I don't know how much extra time and expense goes into it if I do. Some advice please!

For some reason on a camaro it looks gay but on a bird it looks allright. I wouldn't own a car with two tone paint for very long but some people like it. There is a guy in the cascade crew that owns a blue and sliver bird with a ram air 1 hood that looks sweet. But I haven't seen too many others that I think look good.

I love it, just wait til I get pics of my car up, I really don't think theres to many bad things that can be said about the Two Tone I've gone with. For some reason on some it looks tacky, but on others it looks beautiful. But overall, I like it alot

Nope, dont like it

I just dont think two tone looks good on our cars. One solid color with some accents looks awesome. However, it is your car and if you like it, go for it.

Normally I'd vote "it's your car do what you want" but since you wanted opinions go with one color.

i love two tones. My 84 is white with gray on the bottom and i love it. well, actually, its 4 tone right now, white, grey, blue headlight covers, and primer purple/grey front bumper... i gotta get that painted.
ps. ops 32, did you know there's some guy parting out a car exactly like yours on ebay? If you need anything check it out. I bid on the front bumper but missed it.

On most cars, one solid color. There are only a few cars that look good w/ 2 tone paint. Good Luck

85-90 Trans Ams w/ ground effects, certain colours with the ground effects a dif colour as the main body looks good. otherwise, i'd go solid colour.

Specific colour that it looks good on, (IMO) blue body, silver ground fx.

Camaros... only 2-tone i'd be doing here is 2 racing stripes.

Option: I have a buddy with a t/a all back, but has gold in 2 places-- the very end of the cowl induction "power-bulge" style hood. the last like 2.5 inches or so. looks hot; other place is at the vents right infront of each door. they're gold too, it looks nice with the black.

IMO.

My old two-tone FB. I painted the lower portion "bronze" just to add some flair - sorta like Chochey's restaurant.

I dig the 2tone look. I waited till I could find the package I wanted, flame red with silver gfx, plus the '86 stripe package.

If the car looks like Nosaints or scott's85T/A car then YES i like it. You have to have the "hood bird" to match the GFX for contrast.

Other wise NO THANKS!

Here was my car stock from the factory. Red with silver bottom. I did not like the red and silver so I soon changed it to red with a black bottom like the older birds.

I saw that. Ebay is incredible... I missed out on a complete set of factory Pace Car Aero rims & disks a year or so ago...

Well since someone asked for it here it is. Roshambo's car and its evil twin.

The top picture is what most see of the evil twin. The bottom is from Roshambo.

Mark... until just now I never realized that your headlight pockets were body colored instead of black.... I like the nightshade job too. I think I'm gonna try clear though, I think it would look good on a grey car. But If I don't like it, I'll steal your look

I love the two tone as well but there are a couple of issues with them. First, for the Trans Am, they really need to have that fade graphic to pull the whole look together. You never see that on any car anymore. I have the kit but need paint so you wont see it on mine for a while. Second, the two colors tend to make the car look higher and bigger. A solid color lends itself to lower and sleeker. I love the black and gold but I was very tempted to go solid after seeing Flyinglow's silver TA!

I agree about the fader stripe. I have seen the ones made up of dots and well as the ones made up with stripes. I hunted all over to get a fader with stripes that was only an inch & 1/2 tall. That's what I have on my car now.
