Clean parking lights, my interior is in my room, RS inside, and my car turned silver!
Well, since I was grounded for almost a month and a half, I took the oportunity to clean my freakin car since it was a wreck. First, I did the interior. I started out just goin out and wiping everything down w/ some fomula 2001 polish stuff, and ended up tearing out the entire interior, giving it a bath in the tub, and THEN wiping it down w/ a rag, and, where needed, a toothbrush and Q-tips. This took me bout an hour to take it out, 2 hours to clean and wipe down, and bout 3 or 4 hours to put it all back in right. Then I took my parking lights out and cleaned those since they were the origional ones from 89. Those are a biznatch to get out, let me tell ya. It took me a good 30 min to get them out. But it was worth it, cuz DAMN they look nice now. I used an entire can of WD-40, spraying it inside, swooshing it around, and dumping it out, then repeating. Then I did some dawn dishwashing liquid and water for a while. I let them set overnight, wasn't pleased with the results, so I put them in the top cup rack in the dishwasher. That did a pretty good job. Then I took some of the Eagle 1 car wax that is in the background of the picture and put on and took off about 3 coats on each light. And the end result is what you see and is still there too . Then I got a chrome RS sticker from a local show for 4 bucks and put it inside. I seen someone put one inside above the camaro sign but it was a bumper sign, but I think mine looks just as good .The the last one is a picture of my gunmetal gray car, that turned silver in the picture. It's making want to repaint my car silver...lol. Oh ya, and there is also a pic of my recent fender bender . (damn fords!)

Mark: that is not the color of my car if your thinking its silver. It is actually gunmetal gray, see pic posted below. For some reason the picture came out a bright silver...but I like it.
Metkiss: can you photoshop some on my car, I don't think I've ever seen them

What took so long with removing the parking lights? A kid in my auto body class brought his IROC in and we swapped new ones into it in like 10 minutes.
Yours look really good BTW, almost like new. Nice job.

Yeah, I think I got what you're sayin. So what is it that makes them so nasty looking, dirt on the inside, them hazing over on the outside, or a combination of both?

I lived on a gravel road for about 5 years and NEVER cleaned it once by taking out the interior....Now that i'm changing to a black interior, I took it all out........and damn near passed out from all the dust......Needless to say i had a big cleaning job in front of me.......At least you don't have to drive around without the interior......
Good job, with the lights.......and i like what you did with the "RS" logo....

Yeah, I was thinkin about getting a set of the 4th gen flat tips....I heard they were pretty restrictive though.... I just bought a set of 3 1/2 tips....so...I'm keeping them on there as along as I can.....I always put a coat of oil on'em so they wont rust...and paint the inside of'em..

If you get the American Thunder cat-back exhaust from flowmaster they come with 3" stainless steel exhaust tips. Really cool. No more corrosion worries and they look good. The lights do look good. Gives me incentive to do mine now. Haven't cleaned mine out in 12 years and you can tell. Tried to take them out once and said forget it!

Long story short: Got into fight with GF, went out drinking with 2 buds, went to a small town and decided to break into a Co-op and a car dealership (the 2 felonys), left with about $700 worth of stuff, got caught, went to court, county attourney said he didnt want to ruin our lives with double felonys on our record so gave us all a years diversion, and to keep from getting 3 felonys, broke the amount of stuff stolen by 3 and we all had to pay like $289. There were also 2 misdemeniors with those felonys. My parents weren't to happy bout it and thought bout selling my car, and I talked them into grounding me from it for a month (at the time, it turned out to be more like 3) and I quit my job at KFC. My GF was pissed, but we fixed stuff and are still together (Nov. 20th was our 1 year ann. ) and I am well past 6 months of my diversion time (its over the end of May) I'm glad the C.A. was as nice as he was, or else I coulda been in jail for about 7 years. It was just stupid kids that were bored/drunk/pissed off. Goes to show how after school activities really do help kids stay out of trouble.

Trust me, it's never gonna happen again, and my kids are going to know about what I did that way they won't. I just really glad my GF didn't leave me (we had a pretty big fight) and I still have my car. No alchohol is allowed in my car, same with smoking anything, not just cigs if you know what I mean.
