Re: T-RAM OWNERS
??? Lol. I have a brand new HSR sitting on the bench also. Our club allows "other" alternate intakes but is centered around the T-Ram. Not the best, not the cheapest but it is the rarest.

The guy I got my T-Ram from had partly polished it smooth. Do you think soda blasting could bring back the factory look and texture?

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
I still have the T-Ram and really want to install it. I need to find the thermostat housing and the auto/cruise cable unit so I can complete my kit and put this bad boy on. If anyone in this tight T-Ram Owners Club can help a man out I will pay and if anyone can find me these parts to purchase, PM me and I will pay them a $100.00 finders fee.

I polished my T-Ram and clear coated it, but after several years the clear coat started to yellow, so I stripped it and powder coated it red.

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
Nice to see there's still a following for these intakes. My car hasn't moved from it's corner in the garage for almost 3 years. I am ready to move on, just don't know what is the best way to sell what I have. I bought my 87 in 1991 and have put a grand total of +/- 30K miles on it since. Spent way to much money on it over the years trying to keep it nice. It has around 110K on the ODO now. I knew GM would discontinue parts for thirdgens so when I could I purchased parts from GM that I knew would be hard to find. My girlfriend in 1996 ( been married since 1999) bought the last replacement steering wheel from GM for my birthday, 500.00+, replaced all of the power window switches, door locks etc in the late 90's, all GM weather stripping in the early 00's, bought the last GM T-Top spreader bar from a dealer in Portland in the early 00's when I had it repainted as well as the the GM 87 IROC sticker package, headlights, front blinkers, fog lights and side marker lights. Man I have spent way to much money on this car. I would be interested in selling the car along with the SLP intake for a package deal.
Like I said, this car has a lot of hard to find parts that are in like new condition, including the paint and body work. Send me an email if your interested at permanl@frontier.com. I took these pics a couple of years ago ( about 6 years after the repaint) with the SLP ZR1 rims I mentioned that would be included with the sale
http://s299.photobucket.com/user/IRO...tml?sort=3&o=4
Only reason for the pictures is that this isn't your typical 3rd gen and don't want to see get purchased just for the T-Ram then parted out. Not all that interested in putting my car in the cars for sale forum. Would be great to see it go to some one who will keep it together and enjoy the hell out of it. My reason for posting pics of the rims is to give you an idea what the paint looks like. The body shop put 4 coats of clear on the car so I could color sand and buff it so there was no orange peel. I spent over a hundred man hours getting the it flat before putting it back together.

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
Last time I had the ZZ4 shortblock out. Put a set of AFR 195 heads on it and a big custom roller cam. Notice the Hamburger ( SLP) oil pan?
SLP headers, Lingenfelter custom shorty valve covers that clear Crower SS roller rockers, new GM OEM radiator, MSD 6AL ignition, Eibach adjustable spring and struts, Poly bushing, Hotchkiss rear suspension pieces, man I could go on and on. Spohn weld in subframe connectors, SLP 2 OTL exhaust, B&M shifter.

Thanks for the measurements. As soon as I get the auto/cruise bracket assembly from TTop I will have my machinest start building the program to build them. I am going to get a factory stat housing and give him these measurements so we can see what he can do for the thermostat housings. I will keep everyone posted.

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
banks, send me a PM. I share an Email account with my wife and don't recall seeing your PM.
Just to clear the air I am really motivated to clear out my garage. That would include the 1990 IROC Z convertible and my 1987 IROC-Z coupe. I have owned the coupe since 91 and have invested way more than I can could ever expect back out of it. The coupe has the T-Ram and every option SLP offered for it in the late 90's, an almost perfect paint job, never mounted 17" SLP black chrome rims and tons of parts. The engine has top shelf parts throughout, AFR 195 heads, ZZ4 short block, Crower SS rocker arms, Ed Hamburger oil pan, SLP SS headers, 2OTL exhaust, welded sub frame connectors, Iebach adjustable springs / struts. Hotchkiss control arms, adjustable tie rod ends etc. I am ready to move on. send me a PM or Email if you interested.

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
I did find a source to have the gaskets made bye. I haven't had time to work on more art work to incorporate a few more gaskets in the tank cut out section. I'm hoping to get back on this project in a month or so. I'm in the middle of a home move that is taking up all my time right now.

I am also interested in purchasing the t-ram base and plenum gaskets if a source is made available or identified for them.

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
Sold the 90 convertible this past spring. Still have the complete HSR, SS SLP exhaust pieces, and of course my super clean 87 IROC with a the complete SLP T-ram sitting in the garage. My oldest son is 12 YO, if it doesn't sell it will become his first car in a couple of years. I would prefer he beats up something different. The T-ram is something special, would hate to see it become part of a daily driver package again. Especially since it has every part to convert any TPI....

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
There is a Red GTA on Ebay right now with like 6,000 original miles. He has pics galore and the underbody is spotless but you can see how GM didn't tank those car shells like they do now for weatherization.
The first thing a person would have to do is find some sort of under body rubberized coating to match the color then on all the black suspension parts as well.
I am soon to be in the market for a new GTA or 91-92 formula to build on but I could not in good faith and conscious disassemble such an immaculate show worthy pristine vehicle no matter how greedy my power trip quest could be.
I respect guys whom own and take care of cars with such low miles. I can't imagine what they must go through mentally wise when it comes to not altering or upgrading them.
God that must be awful!

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
For posterity, I'm posting this vid I put on youtube several years ago of my T-Ram with the mythical auto trans / cruise control kick down "bracket". This video displays the weird high pitched sound the intake makes as air is sucked in. You would swear there is a massive leak but no, there isn't. I think it's a resonance sound from the air making so many 90% turns before making it to the tunnel ram based lower intake runners.
I took this after swapping out the TF heads and cam with AFR heads and much larger custom roller cam. That hunting idle turned out to be a major problem with the cam distributor gear and the MSD pro billet distributor billet steel distributor gear. They ate each other and sent the remains throughout the engine.

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
If fairly sure I have a friend who can produce the cam piece. It has been low on the priority list for me to get the gaskets produced. Down sizing homes and building a shop has taken all my time. Send me a pm Anthony, I'll pass allong some information to try to get the cam pieces made or can be the middle man and if I can get some pics and the sample piece if he agrees to make them

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
I sent him my cam piece and supposedly had it scanned to a file but I don't remember if he sent it to me or not.
Had a few guys look at it and tell me its a cast piece that's been machined to the shape.
The gaskets would be great to have, installing 3 T-rams this summer

Re: T-RAM OWNERS
I'm going to start mocking mine up on a spare 350 I have here. Might even throw a p600b on it...just because I have a bunch of that stuff lying around (just need a fresh head unit), TFS G1 heads, some yet to be determined cam...etc...etc. My gray iroc's engine is getting really tired. Runs strong but smokes a bit and oil pressure is moderate. Going to ditch the auto and run a retrofit T56 (or throw the T56 into the red iroc...undecided still as I have the auto and cruise bracketry for the t-ram)

I've been working (slowly) on the correct billet fuel rail parts and the stainless hard lines.
