HSR-Miniram 355 combos
What kind of HP are you making with a 350-360 engine ? Just curious!

Re: HSR-Miniram 355 combos
Of course, you know about my build and the numbers that have been produced.
Are you ready for a HSR with the BO91 EGR mod? I have a couple extra 'block-off' channels to act as a starting point.
Of course, we all know your car rips pretty well as is

Re: HSR-Miniram 355 combos
At 8.5:1 compression I made 298 rwhp and 300 rwtq on a 355 with a HSR. Then I added a F1A Procharger and it makes just a little bit more. That's with the Comp NX276HR cam.
On the Miniram car, it still needs more tuning but it makes 360rwtq at 2200 and 310 rwhp. It needs more tuning and most likely more cam than a CC305 to really make good power.

Re: HSR-Miniram 355 combos
Friends stock bottom end L98 but with .060" over pistons (360" at around 9.5-ish to 1 comp) with old AFR 190's and HSR with 280xfi cam made 330whp before suffering valvefloat at 5700 and up. It was horrible, power was fluctuating 40+ hp up and down on the dyno as we pulled to 6200.
If you extend the graph, based on the slope of the HP line, i'd estimate 350-355whp was possible at 6200-6300 rpm. Not bad for old AFR 190 heads that likely only flow 250-260cfm. New 195 eliminators and another point of compression should be up near 380-400whp I'd say, pull to 6500 likely.
Car ran 12.2 at 112 with the valvefloat problem. I have no doubt with better launch, cool air and the right valve springs for no float, it would have gone 11.8's at 114-ish, maybe 115.

Re: HSR-Miniram 355 combos
355 ported hsr, ported afr 195s, 11.25:1 compression, Mid 240's dur, almost .600 lift and on a 112 lsa, 2210 headers, 42lb injectors, few other odd's and ends. Im guessing 400-430 through the auto.
Last time I had it to the dyno in 2009 I ran out if injector and made 385 rwhp and I had to start the dyno at 3500 cause of the 3k stall. TQ was only like 335 iirc. The AF was almost 14:1
But back in dec last year at Atco I went 11.57@117.5

Re: HSR-Miniram 355 combos
I'm thinking about replacing my SuperRam intake with ba HSR and I'm wondering if it will fit under a stock Firbird hood. Also, I have a 383, AFR 190 heads, SLP 1 3/4 headers, 2800-3000 stall, and a 3.27 rear axle. Currently I running the SuperRam intake system and the matching 219 cam. If I switch to the HSR intake whats a good cam profile to use? Thx, Tom

Re: HSR-Miniram 355 combos
I guess most people put this stuff on and don't know how well the car is running. It just feel good to the butt Dyno. One guy made in SoCal made 408whp@6050 with a Miniram, 280XFI and Trickflow Heads.

great numbers on these setups. question....how well does the stock bottom end hold up to the 6k power band from the 280xfi cam?

355,hsr,eq heads ,218/228 cam,headers&no cat,700r4,10 bolt 3.42. 3670lbs raceweight ->
12.8/107.xx at 1/4mile(airfield strip).
I have several dyno measurements between 300...390whp,don't trust dynos too much.Trap speed tells truth.

Re: HSR-Miniram 355 combos
Should beable to get away with 93 with cold plugs and a conservative timing tune and maybe abit richer than normal. Thats a good sized cam on a 355 so it may be doable. LT1's can run 12 to 1 just fine, and 11.5 is common for them but they have better cooling. Keep it cool, keep it richer/low on timing with a cold plug its likely possible with that cam.

Re: HSR-Miniram 355 combos
Yeah it was a low 12 afr like 12.4 to 1 and the most timing I could put in it was 30 degrees total plugs I ran in that motor were ar3932.
