First time out with the stealth ram
Hey guys I just wanted to let you all know I got my 383 AFR 195 headed stealth ram w stock tb cc306 cam hooker 1 3/4 long tubes into a mufflex 3.5 catback, 30lb injectors and a very rough megasquirt tune. I made my first strup passes last night and went 13.46@101 w/a 1.93 60'. Keep in mind I'm racing at 6000' above sea level. I think it's a pretty good starting point what do you all think. My A/R was about 12.4:1 at WOT

Re: First time out with the stealth ram
At higher altitude, you can run a bit more timing at WOT, than you can at sea level. 6000 ft probably is getting you about 80-82 kPA at WOT?? Add about 5 degrees to a sea-level calibration. I don't mean add it across the board. I mean see what your timing is at 80, and see if it's about 5 more than at 100 (with 100 having a typical 32 degrees or whatever).
It gets harder and harder to knock at higher altitudes, so you have freedom to play with it with less worry.
What are you controlling timing with???

Re: First time out with the stealth ram
Right now for timing I'm using a mechanical dizzy actually a converted points setup because I needed a small cap and I was having problems getting my stock setup to work properly with the megasquirt. So in the next week or 2 I plan to try again with the factory ignition setup. I agree I could definately run some more timing but it's a little hard with a mech dizzy that is borrowed none the less. I'm going to play with the fuel up top some more and see if I can't get it closer to 13.0:1 and see how she likes it. I'm also less worried about detination because I'm running pretty low comp like 8.7:1 or so was planning on boost next year but now I'm going to be a daddy so boost is now a low priority.
