Delete, no one on here want to give a worthwhile response only restate the obvious and bicker about irrelivant things.

That ones new to me. Kind of looks like a truck intake manifold on a gen 3 V8.

You asked about the manifold, not about what type of engine it is on, or whether I have ever seen one. Also, if you actually spent some time searching for information, you would know that Indmar actually produced an LT1 based racing marine engine. That particular 2-piece manifold that is in the auction came on Mastercraft MCX engines. It appears to be on of their top-of-the-line models.

I know nothing about boats, but 10 minutes on google and you have your answer.

OK i thought it was rather obvious that i was asking about that intake in regards to the LT1 motor in a car (on the other forum i posted that questions worded i the same way everyone understood it perfectly)....... Also I spent about 2 hours searching and researching it only to find that the company's real name, and to get a couple pictures of thier motors with the intake on them, but NO information about the intake its self or putting it on an automotive LT1.
Now back to the topic, Has any one heard of swapping that marine 2 piece intake manifold onto automotive LT1 engines, or has anyone seen one before?
Is that spelled out enough for you now?

Right, Indmar makes marine products. Like was posted above that intake manifold is used on some of their marine motors. Looks like he has adapted it to an LT1 automotive application.

Anyone else want to restate the obvious in their own words? Or pehapse there is someone who actualy has something worth while to add? Such as "My friend did that and....." or "Joe and Bob's fbody shop sells a kit for that...." or "that is a bad idea because...."

You not only seem to fail at the internet, but at communication. Yet another 10 minutes browsing around on google and I have the entire specification page on the MCX motor that the intake comes on. The MCX motor is derived from the Vortec 5700 series, meaning the intake is made to accept Vortec style bolt pattern. But you may ask, what about coolant passages through the manifold? Well, like the LT1 manifold, the MCX manifold apparently doesn't have provisions for coolant to flow through it. The water pump of the MCX motor takes care of all the cooling needs.

The manifold also has provisions for a distributor, which more than likey was eliminated by the owner of that car since it appears the plug wires are heading towards the engine, not behind.

Also, the lower manifold base will need to be drilled to mate to the LT1 heads since it is designed to work on the Chevy Vortec style heads.

The runners, as specified by the ebay seller, as well as the manafacturer, are of a long-tube design, and is meant for low and mid-range torque, not screaming high RPMs.

The setup is a MPFI style EFI, so it should work fine in that field.

The owner of that car probably spent a pretty penny for that setup since it is a custom piece specifically for the Mastercraft line of boats, and it had to be machined to work for him.

Where on earth are you coming from? There are NO provsions for a distributor that i can see on that inake? Have you ever seen a LT1? they have this little thing called OPTI... which is on the front of the motor..... Now please just go find something shinny to stare at...

I said the MANIFOLD has provisions for a distributor since it originally came on a Vortec V8 that, whaddya know, USES a distributor .

Oh no! Look, the same crab-style distributor that GM used on its Express Vans that came with *gasp* Vortec V8s. One picture shows half of the distributor and wires, and the other one shows the ECM mounted on the back of the engine, with the 8 plug wires trailing from the distributor, which is not in the picture.

thanks for both links. Still not much info on the intake itself. like flow #'s etc..

As said over on CZ28 with the right cam etc might be a cool intake. Similar to the truck style intakes. We have some big boat shops around me I might get in contact with. see what they say...
