I, too, am looking to buy headers from Summit, so I searched the archives for the discount, and it ended at the end of April. I don't suppose they'll be doing it again. Here's the original post:
https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/...ML/000155.html
I sure wish they'd offer it again!
------------------
1992 Pontiac Firebird Formula (original 305 TBI) The project has begun:
just purchased 350 TPI, Dual fan setup, OEM Posi, GM 3.42 gears and JEGS Ultimate Support Cover for 7.5 rear.
1997 Chevrolet Camaro SS # 379 (1 of 371 Black, T-Top, 6-speed)
1973 Chevrolet Camaro RS/Z28
1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS 350
RIP Dale Earnhardt.

I just emailed Mr. Hedges to see if he would give us a discount again. If he does I will let everyone know as soon as I know.

As soon as I know I'll post it here. I know they've received my email, and I am told they will get to me soon....we'll see. I figure I can point out to them all the people that are wanting this.

O.k. guys, I got an email back from Summit. As I stated earlier, the 10% discount has been over since April 20th. Summit is not offering further discounts, and at this time have no plans to re-offer them. It was basically a one time deal to show their thanks to people preferring them over Jegs in the "Jegs" thread.
Sorry.
Sorry.

Even though I still like Summit, that's a load of bull. They were already handing out 10% discounts to anybody that's ever ordered from them before back in April. Timed about the time when a lot of people are getting their income tax refund checks. They were just trolling the boards and acted like they were doing us a kindness. If nobody noticed, the sales number they gave us for the discount was the same as the one on the certificate sent to "thank you for your purchases and be sure to spend your tax refund on us courtesy of this 10% discount"...
anyway, it's better than nothing, but it annoys be that they tried to pass it off like that.

I had that 10% discount slip even before the tax refund checks were news... and there was nothing in my envelope about spending a tax refund on it.
Still, a lot of thirdgen.org members never got the mailed certificate; I think Summit was great in actually coming in here to post the information. There were actually other Summit customers that didn't get the mailing; seems like Summit had some kind of preferred list? Of course I'm biased b/c I think Summit Racing rocks, but still, they didn't have to come in here on their own.

Considering how much I bought from Summit over the years, I was a little miffed I didn't get a 10% off coupon like 90% of my friends did. I guess all the stuff I'd bought helped allow Summit to offer a 10% discount to all my friends who buy stuff from Jegs I buy stuff from both because I don't always see the things I need listed at one site or the other. I like both about the same and will continue to buy from whoever is cheaper/better customer service. Granted, after having to deal with March and Edelbrock's customer service lately ... it is a bigger reason to do business with someone lately than the overall cost is!

Our fine board operators had a general message about the Summit discount, including the number to give the person taking your order. You didn't need to get something in the mail if you had your eyes open on this board (I actually saw it on the board before I got it in the mail). Whether they offered it to anyone else is hardly germane - they took the time to seek us out and make sure our board knew about it.
I used it twice. Had I had my ducks in order, I could have saved $6.75 more by ordering everything at the same time, but the $35 off the Hooker 2055's was still sweet.
Wouldn't mind if they did it again, though...

is Sumitt absolutely stupid or something? geezus, for all the people that are ready to order RIGHT NOW I would have come on here and told u guys to get your butts on the phone b/c I would offer that discount. Now, without them offering it again in the near future, we/you/other people might hold off for a while and find a better price regardless somewhere else or on ebay or something....sheesh, what fools.
don't get me wrong,I think Sumitt is awesome too....but sometimes business people are so dang stooopid.
