I called and talked to them some more and got a little snippy with them and supposedly the refund was sent out yesterday but idk so i will have to keep an eye out. Ill update as it happens.

I am the Merchandising Director for Classic Industries and became aware of the issue you recently had with steering coupler 7826542. First of all, we would like to apologize for the problems that you encountered with your purchase. We have a 100% Money Back Guarantee and it is our goal to always provide the best customer service possible.
One issue we would like to clear up has to do with the reason for the research. While it did take a few days to complete our research, the research was being done to try to come up with a solution for you. Thanks for the reply. I talked to a service rep today and was told the refund had been released. Yesterday when i talked to a service rep i was told i wouldnt get one until the research was finished. I figured since thats what the rep told me then thats what was happening. Which is why i thought it was unnecessary to have my money held while the research was going on. So when the rep today told me the money had been released monday it didnt match up with what i was told yesterday. I did my research and knew that classic industries, year one etc didnt offer a rag joint that will fit the later 2nd gen cars which is why i wanted a refund. This way i could look into either a rebuild kit or maybe locating a nice used one online until something else surfaced. I will throw this out there though... I was informed by a member of NastyZ28 that the Dorman part #31008 is a ford # but the ford rag joint will have 2 flat spots instead of 1 but will still work. It might be worth looking into this as if it does fit then it might be something to consider as a working part until you can get a correct replacement. At least it will be closer than the Dorman #31001 was. As far as the price goes, I did forget i used the discount code but either way thats still $40 that could be used to buy a working part or during the holiday season it could even help out with buying gifts for others. Im just glad to get the money back so I can check into some other alternatives and see what i find out. Have your techs check out Dorman #31008 and see if it fits. I will compare it for myself and go from there. I do appreciate you replying and explaining everything. As far as making it up to me, thats not necessary. Im just happy with getting my refund. I will include your post and this reply on NastyZ28 as well. If you dont mind though could you update the next catalog to have the correct information as far as the rag joints go. Well its the first real time ive ever had to deal with their customer service. Honestly i think the only way i got the same answer today about the refund that he stated was by requesting the same rep that requested me take the pictures. Took about 10 minutes of waiting to talk to her but she actually told me the refund was released. I too am happy that they are finally giving my refund. Of coarse i was offered an exchange first before the final check about the refund.
Thanks man. Im slowly getting there, what can i say ive hit a few road blocks if you havnt noticed lol

Just says its a GM replacement.
I have the fan shroud from the 75 if you need one.
I did get my motor mounts from Classic back in 97 or 98. Never needed to return anything. My transaction was on the phone with some guy that was very knowledgeable
with 2nd gens.

I have been happy with products from them, but unhappy with shipping charges. They charge a precentage based on the price of the item.

Ive bought from them many times. Aside from high shipping and issues with China made OER parts its been fine. I was fine when this part didnt work. I just called to send it back but it just seemed like it was drug out and then when i started to ask if i had my refund yet it seemed like they were making excuses. So this post isnt to stop all business for them. Just a warning about an issue i had with them. Ive had to return a broken OER part and swap out a carb jetting kit to Summit Racing and it was super fast and easy. No questions about why i was returning it. Nor did i have to take a ton of pictures just to prove it was broken so i could get a voucher to return it.

Checked the bank today and the refund was received. Now i can start checking into some other options for the rag joint. Im not saying i will never use classic industries again. But i will definitely do my homework and look around before making a purchase through them.

All who read this make sure what you buy is what you think it is. Where ever it came from you no longer know. Liability is passed on to who made it. China and so on. The company you bought it from may not have the technology anymore. It is probably in China being built by poor victims (slave labor) under single incandescent light bulbs strung together. We rebuilt all our stamping and forging dies tooling and more. Sent it to every corner of the world and then walked away. My warranty and tech service as well as law suites followed the part to places where they don't even speak English. It is good everyone on this and other forums know what is happening. The USA will never be the same. We are becoming a third world country. I helped send fantastic stuff we learned in years of racing too many countries. The best people with the most experience are the ones that were chopped first. My entire Warranty Technical service and Sales crews were sent packing. They were the best of the best. We on this forum prove many times over how much we care and are proud of our American Iron. Ray, I know what you are going through. It's tough to stand behind product when you understand how it goes here in the NEW USA where we buy on price and burn by poor quality. Hang in there Ray. I feel your pain. Fellow 3rd Geners' fight back! BUY AMERICAN!!!!! PLEASE. What we have already lost we will never get back. I will leave you to ponder this, China is becoming one of the largest land owners in the USA. They buy our recyclables and garbage, Run it “through the wash” and sell it back to us. Compare the way steel frames and such rot and peel. That is caused by cheap dirty steel that literally is delaminating! Anybody happy with the way an S10 trans cross member looks after a couple of salty winters? When the cars start falling apart our youth will buy German or Japanese or whatever is cheapest and call what they believe is USA parts “crap”. I am proud to be an American. I fear we are a target for easy money. Few understand that yes we are building their cars here in America. We also send the profit out of this country. My CEO had me can several people so he could get his bonus. I was asked to lie about warranty and cheap foreign parts. The 5 top guy’s have gotten a bonus that I could live the rest of my life with. I hope our youth see’s this and shoves that cheap quality right up their foreign A@#.

I am always amazed how quickly people will trash a co. when they have a problem. We are dealing w/old cars, and parts can be a problem as the above post shows. I've dealt w/ Classic many times, they have always taken care of things in time if a problem existed. Usually there was not a problem. When a part is recieved on the 14th and a refund is given on the 17th. That is totally acceptable, especially when a weekend is involved. All I can say is I for one am glad that companies like Classic exist. Being older I can remember when parts just were not available for alot of older cars. If you needed something, you fixed it or adapted something else or you made it yourself. Todays aftermarket parts availability has made our lifes alot easier. All I am saying is stop and think, give things a chance. These companies exist to help us w/ our cars, not just take the $$$ and run........

So let me get this? You ordered parts that says 77-79 GM, and get upset when it dosnt fit your 82-92 gm? Whats the confusion here? Im in parts myself and never would have I assumed that something that clearly states a different range would fit.

Umm no actually if you happen to look at what my listed car is, then you would notice that its a 1979 Camaro. I posted this over here from NastyZ28.com which is a 70-81 camaro forum. I only posted this as a heads up about an issue i was having. It was confusion with a company. Im not a moron... I can read.
