Gmpartsdirect must do a lot of "handling"
I was looking to buy the HVAC selector switch at Gmpartsdirect. they have it listed for a good price. $38.75.
SHIPPING AND HANDLING on the other hand is listed as $410.27 bringing the total price to $449.02
I sent them an email hoping that this is a glitch in their system.
Here's a screen shot.

Oh no the savings are even better than that! I will save 37.23 ! Heck it's a damn good deal I'll have to order 2 just in case !
Sight unseen since they don't have a screen shot of the switch.
I'm really hoping they get back to me soon. My switch smoked. no AC. no fan. And the South Texas heat and humidity

At least you have a good sense of humor about it.. I tried several other items and didn't have that problem, I did only that problem.. I didn't get it..

Well I heard back from GMpartsD...
Hi Tony,
I apologize for your inconvenience. Unfortunately, the part number you requested has been discontinued and is no longer available from GM. You will have to find an aftermarket source for this part. Thank you,
F Norton

I guess it was easier to jack up the S&H than to take them off the website.
I think I will probably go for that ebay one . it looks like it's missing one pin. I'm betting it's for the non-AC cars. but I can fix that.. one way or anther.

Re: Gmpartsdirect must do a lot of "handling"
Have bought from them multiple times. Best deal is with smaller items for sure. But compared to local dealer prices they almost always beat them handily.
That said there website has been screwed up lately. I ordered 102 dollars in parts and the total showed 902 dollars. Course pointed that out to them and they say they will get the website fixed. The web designer should be fired.........800 extra ?

Seems Like None Of Those GM Parts Websites Are Ever Updated,You Order A Part That Is Clearly Listed On Their Site,Only To Get An Email A Day Or Two Later Saying "Sorry That Part Has Been Discontinued by GM".

GMpartsdirect has been known to be very high on shipping period. I'm sure it's how they make sales profit.

Regardless they are cheaper than dealer even with shipping. Have ordered from them many times and if they say the part is out of stock check with your local dealer and have them do a search. Partsdirect only looks at warehouses.
