Those of you that have ordered from GMPartsDirect

I see there website has a third party catalog from Trade Motion. I found what I was looking for in there catalog (front bumper cover). Its listed at $211. Just for the heck of it. I punched that number in GMPartsDirect search and it came up listed for $209. Now GMPartsDirect shows no picture of it and the description says camaro front or rear cover. I see no phone number I can call. My question for you is. Did you order through GMPartsDirect or the third party catalog from Trade Motion? Shipping is a little high. Any other suggestions for a new GM front bumper cover?

Re: Those of you that have ordered from GMPartsDirect

I've ordered several things from gmpartsdirect.com with no issues. Their base price is always lowest but they are high on shipping. The total usually ends up being slightly less than most other places. I've also noticed they are usually a little slower to ship than other places but if I'm not in a hurry I don't mind using them. I have also used scoggin dickey and pace parts with success so you may want to look at those places too for comparison. You will probably have to call for a price comparison though, I doubt either of those would have the bumper cover on their website. You also may look at your local gm dealer sometimes they will cut you a good deal.

There should be an e-mail address on GM Parts Direct where you can confirm the part number with them. Last I ordered t-top weatherstripping I was prompted to get an e-mail confirmation of the part number or they would not accept a return.

Used them several times over the past 10 or so years.

Used them in early March for new parking lights. Aside from high "shipping and handling charges" I had no complaints.

Re: Those of you that have ordered from GMPartsDirect

I sent them an email and confirmed the part number per VIN. I guess I didnt understand what the third party catalog was about when they have the part on there site for a couple bucks cheaper. It seems like a no brainer. Just for the heck of it. Im going to see what my local dealer chargers for the cover.

Well I went to the dealer. $371 out the door for the bumper cover. GMPartsDirect is $289 shipped. I just placed my order with GMPartsDirect.

Nice, I plan to do the same soon. Keep us updated on it, especially if you have any fitment issues.

Well guys, I still havent got my bumper cover yet. I was gonna give them until the end of the week. Then call and see if they can track it for me.

On a side note. When I went to my local dealer. They told me there was 30 new GM front bumper covers in the warehouse.

Re: Those of you that have ordered from GMPartsDirect

I tried to buy the WOT 4th gear TV valve yesterday from them. $12 for the kit = cool!

However, the shipping was $421 to Las Vegas. Yes, you read the right, $421.

Re: Those of you that have ordered from GMPartsDirect

I bought a set of rear coil springs for my iroc a couple months ago. No issues with them besides the high shipping and handling charges which everybody also said. Took a couple of weeks to get them but I wasnt in a hurry for them since I was getting other parts also from other places. Only thing that sucked was that they charged me 20.00 per spring to ship. They could of combined shipping since they shipped both springs in the same box. I know that it doesnt cost 40.00 to ship 2 coil springs that probably weigh around 10lbs but I am happy with what I got. I priced them at a local chevy dealership and it would of been more to get them even with the discount I get thru the ford dealership I work at. Overall, I would buy from them again. Iroctheroad, so they wanted to charge you 409.00 shipping for a TV valve. You probably could of bought a round trip flight cheaper to go get the part. Thats highway robbery.

Re: Those of you that have ordered from GMPartsDirect

Well, I havent received my cover yet. I sent GM Parts an email asking for information. They emailed me back with a tracking number today. Its on its way. It wasnt even shipped until the 24th. I ordered it on the 6th. That seems a little rediculous to me. Oh well. Ill have it for the weekend so it is what it is.

Re: Those of you that have ordered from GMPartsDirect

GM Parts Direct is a dealership that sells parts on the internet. That being said, if they don't have the parts in stock, they will source them from GM parts warehouses or other dealerships. This results in long waits for parts at times. I have ordered from them over the years and their prices including shipping usually are cheaper then going to a dealership. I've also found that if you need to buy a lot of parts, going to one dealership and building a relationship with them can result in getting better pricing. I did that when I was doing a semi resto on my T/A and eventually got parts at the whole sale price vs retail because the guy behind the counter became interested in my project.

Re: Those of you that have ordered from GMPartsDirect

Long as you order a part or two, there ok. If you try and order 20 things, they screw it up. Missing parts and blame the carrier/shipping...... even when the box is perfect and not open.
So I quit ordering from them, customer service kinda sucked.

Chevy dealer in town charges more than list price, pontiac not so bad.. sucks gmpd had to go bad.

Did you ever get your cover? If so, how was the fit and finish?
