GM Classic Parts?

GM Classic Parts?
This is all I could find on them, which isn't much:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/afte...s-georgia.html
They have a lot of NOS goodies, albeit expensive. However the thread above seems to suggest NOS isn't always NOS with this company.
Thoughts?
Or am I better off going through Year One?

Re: GM Classic Parts?
it depends what you're looking for. there's lots of great companies out there. They don't have the best selection, but for many NOS parts I like this company
http://www.moderndaymuscle.com/camaro
Classic industries of course has a ton of parts, but you certainly pay a premium for them, not to mention shipping costs

Re: GM Classic Parts?
assuming you're not being sarcastic, yes, they good price on some things. I have referred many people there for washer and radiator bottles. can't beat those deals
I wish their side emblems were cheaper... OUCH

Re: GM Classic Parts?
indeed being serious, the next cheapest set I've seen is $500 with shipping, and the ones at gmclassicparts are $600+shipping, just for lenses.
$400 seems like a steal...almost seems too good to be true??
I noticed modern day muscle's NOS grilles are a good bit cheaper than most other places too.
EDIT: yea, those rocker emblems hurt bad at $70 each.

Re: GM Classic Parts?
i would call them to see if it just includes the lens, or the entire assembly

Re: GM Classic Parts?
All the listings I've seen so far have specifically said just for the lenses.
I WOULD like to get the inner fill panel too though, the black parts next to the reverse lights that house the license plate lights...I'd like the 91-92 style where the license lights were one white rectangle, whereas the ones on the earlier cars look like there should be four bulbs behind them but when you unscrew them there are only places for two at the top, so it actually looks like your two bottom license plate lights are burned out. Small detail, I know...always bothered me though.
I'd really like to find a NOS third brake light too actually but have never seen one.

I have used them and have not had a problem at all. They seem to have a lot of NOS parts for a good price.

Try this for the NOS third brake light!!
It was at one time (Sep/Oct) $429.00 US No thanks!!
http://cgi.ebay.com/NOS-Camaro-IROC-...item4153731136
If you hurry, you can pay $389.00 US
P.S. Just for the record, I dealt with GM Classic Parts once, and I got got prompt service, However, I read above that some of his parts aren't NOS GM stuff (when he says they are), so I checked out the part that I got (fog light switch for 1989 Camaro), and I'm not really sure that I got an NOS GM Part!!
It came in a AC Delco parts box, but the switch has "INDAK PAT PEND" on the side of it, no AC Delco!! Part # on the box is 10045806 AC Delco # D1566A which matches the item to the same picture on compnine's site!!
It looks like the same thing but as I said above no AC Delco!!!
I'm hoping "INDAK PAT PEND" is a legit marking that I'll find on the old switch also, I haven't changed it yet, but that day is fast approaching!!

Re: GM Classic Parts?
Wow I just recently picked up 2 NOS ones for $75.00 each. Looked everywhere for good used ones for years to no avail, when I came across these ones by fluke when I was looking for other parts.
The used ones are definitely hard to find in good shape yet alone finding NOS ones.
Its too bad that no one has started to remake these. The majority of the time at the back of the light, the screws are always rotted and break off leaving the remainder in the light housing rendering the light useless.
The price for an NOS one may seem steep but try and find one.

Re: GM Classic Parts?
Went to look at some parts that someone was selling and noticed the light.I asked it it was for sale he said ya $75.00.Then he said he had another one as well ,took him about 15 min to dig it out .Ended up grabbing both.
Like I said it was a fluke chance . Its amazing what people have stashed in their garage.
I have people come up to me when Im in the Iroc saying that they use to have one back in the day .Some mention that they have the odd new part still in the box that they purchased when they had their Iroc and never got around to selling them.
Mind you it dosent happen all the time but when it does its amazing what other parts they have that they forgot about until you go there and actually see them.

Hello puma1552!!
If I were you, I'd talk really nice to iroc88, and maybe you two could work out a deal..........not saying that he would, but you never know!!
P.S. That way you wouldn't have to pay $330.00 to the guy in Vancouver!!

That was a good score!!!
I had to remove one that I had in my Blue Z-28 awhile back to fix a couple of burned out bulbs, and I made the mistake of trying to unclip the electrical connector from the lens assembly, and the clip broke!! I should have just unscrewed the screws holding the backing on, anyways, I also found out that the tab on the righthand side that the screw, screws into, to hold the assembly into the rear spoiler was broken!! I guess the previous owner tried to replace some bulbs at one time, and broke the tab cranking the screw too tight!!
Your right though, somebody should make these!!!

Re: GM Classic Parts?
The clips almost always seem to break . I was lucky too come across two NOS lights as both of mine on the convertibles the screws are rotted or broken.
Even thou my cars are solid there must be a way that condensation gets in and rots the screws.
One of my cars is from Tampa Bay and you would think the back of the light would be ok but not so.
Every car that Ive come across in the past 7-8 years when Im looking for a good third light I always find the back of the light damaged and screws are rotted.
So sure you can say Ive lucked out but I think puma1552 has as well even thou the price was steep these are very hard to find in good condition yet alone finding an NOS piece.
Until such time that someone starts to remanufacture them(if they even do) you have to buy what you can find in good shape and that generally means paying a premium for them ......

I can see paying a premium, but sometimes it's highway robbery!!!

Re: GM Classic Parts?
I am really tired of seeing gmclassic parts clog up ebay with his overly priced crap that may not even be NOS. $20 each for nuts and bolts, $15 for a hood hatch strut clip, etc. etc.
The newest gag is a set of RS/Z28 NOS centercaps for the laughable price of $500.
I wouldn't care, if this guy actually sold something once in a while but it gets tiring when 3/4 of the NOS listings are his and it's the same parts over and over for months and months on end.

Re: GM Classic Parts?
Stay away from these guys! I ordered the front headliner clips because I broke mine not knowing how to remove them. Their site said they were in stock, I paid and these goofs removed them from the site altogether and charged the credti card anyways. I never received so much as an order confirmation from them. Tried to contact them by phone, nobody picks up, and I sent them an email message. Nothing. It has been a month an a half now.
Well I've done what the credit card company wanted me to do now. Time to call back and get these charges reversed. I have never dealt with such a poorly run business.before. Luckily I found a junkyard with a bunch of these cars so finally I got the headliner back in.

Re: GM Classic Parts?
Vintage Parts is the true GM, Ford and many industries NOS, slow moving allocation
You have to set up an account with them, very easy and can only order online unless you are a dealer. The very best parts depts. at GM dealers will search there inventory and up charge you to get the parts, but you can go there personally and do the same.
