Re: Anyone use Tirecrack before?

Haven't used them before, but I just got a set from discount tire direct and paid $360 for a set of Falken tires shipping included! (245-50-16's front and 255-50-16's rear)

my brother and i have always ordered from them since we got our cars and the suburban my brother has and a few trucks he has had in the past. father does too for his equinox.

never had a problem, and convenient for us because we have them ship the tires to work where my brother does the installation free

Re: Anyone use Tirecrack before?

Decent company.

I did have a problem with them, but it was in their rules to call me and make sure the 2 tires I bought were right because they were oversize tires. (33"x12.5" tires.) I would still order from them again.

Re: Anyone use Tirerack before?

The company is very good. When you order from Canada you know exactly how much it will cost you (duty and customs), no hidden fees at your door. The problem is that they ship only with UPS and the duty and fees are expensive.

Re: Anyone use Tirerack before?

Great company in my opinion, I have worked with them a couple of times. Not only for tires but for suspension components too. I got some Eibach items from them for a Charger, Eibach did not have it in stock so they reffered me to Tirerack and they gave me great service and good shipping time.

I've gotta ask......

What was your problem with them? That they followed their rules & called to confirm that you knew you had ordered an oversized tire & that your vehicle could use the oversized tire?

Sounds like they were going out of their way to ensure that the customer got the correct sized tire. If that is your only "complaint", should that lower their status down to just "decent"?

I had NO problem with them calling me to confirm that the 315/35/17s I had ordered for my GTA, were indeed what I was wanting & would indeed fit.

I had mine shipped to the installer & they called when they were in. I plan to order my front tires from Tirerack, within the next month or so.

I'm just use to ordering parts and not getting questioned if it's the right part.

Re: Anyone use Tirecrack before?

In fairness they know that most of their customers wouldn't know a tire size if it fell on them. It's quite correct for them to call and confirm that you have overwide wheels/a lift/ect.

Went in to NAPA the other day for some ATF. Grabbed a bottle of Type-F. The grizzled old dude behind the counter stops me as I walk up: "What's that going into?" I answer: "Well the trans is a C6 out of a '68 Mustang, currently in a '63 Mercury." He says: "That's what you need then". I told him I appreciated him checking. An idiot would have dumped that in their Geo/Hondur/Yoter/Cadavalier and been in a world of hurt.

First post, but yes buy from them. I have made three separate purchases from them and never had any issues from them at all. The prices are good, service is great, and the shipping is fast, so yea don't worry about them at all.

Re: Anyone use Tirerack before?

I've bought from Tire Rack and Discount Tire Direct numerous times, and I've always been satisfied with both.

My only complaint is that Tire Rack wouldn't sell me just 2 snow tires... they'd only sell them in sets of 4, so I bought snow tires somewhere else.

Both companies get their tires to me very quickly, and I've never had a problem with any of the tires I've bought.

Re: Anyone use Tirerack before?

My sister has used them for a set of 4 tires for her new Toyota Rav 4. Got a crazy good price compared to local tireshop markup. This is in Calgary AB.

She saved like $400 when the smoke cleared, hell of a deal.
Something like $800 vs $1200 locally (this is 17" tires, etc etc).

The beauty is, as mentioned, the UPS rates include the shipping, duty, brokerage etc. You're done paying once you click "submit" on the website. So you can make an accurate price comparison. The only payment left is mounting and balancing locally.

Re: Anyone use Tirerack before?

I used them recently and they are great! quick to ship and recieve item and great with returns! And tires I got were 86 a piece where as everywhere else they were $145 - $165 a piece. Btw they do have a tech call you if you order tires that are not a factory option size for your car to make sure it's what you want and you didn't order it by mistake. I think it's a good thing!

Re: Anyone use Tirerack before?

I think I have bought tires for my car exclusively from them for the last ten years or so. I have always liked their prices and never had a significant problem with service. The one thing I did not care for was on one purchase quite few years back. I was shipped a four-wheel set of tires with four significantly different manufacture dates. All four tires wore at different rates. The shortest lived tire wore out in half the life of the longest lasting. Most of the other orders I have received with only one tire of a different date but usually not that far apart. Not the fault of TireRack but an unfortunate drawback of buying them over the 'net instead of locally.

My only issue with discount tire is that their tire protection plan doesn't include our cars! And it's such a good plan too!!

Re: Anyone use Tirerack before?

Off you read their policy for their Tire Protection Plan (TPP) it's says that the vehicles Covered are the current model year and 10 years prior. Now I was a little confused wondering if this was really how I was thinkin it was, so I emailed them and told them that i had a 92 Camaro and was wondering if I was to buy tires from them would it b covered by there TPP. This is what I got.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to write. Unfortunately, the TPP would not apply to your year, make and model vehicle. This is not a decision on behalf of Discounttires.com. We use a third party insurance company in order to provide this service and this is one of their stipulations. If you have any questions please feel to write back. Thank you again for visiting our site! Best Wishes! 877-382-2007
