Hawks third gen parts AGAIN!

I have nothing against hawks third gen and have only heard good things from them. With my birthday coming, she order a set of spohn subframe connectors for me from them and with the red powder coating, the total was supposed to be $240. She ordered them, I had to tell her which ones cause she didn't know what dual cat meant but anyway when she checks her credit card statement, the total isn't $240, it is $270! What gives? I could have gotten them elsewhere for less but that isn't the point. The receipt that I printed out for the order is $240 so what is the extra charge for? I live in the Chi-Town area but it said free shipping on the order and it has been a while so you can't say that it could have been sent express. I have only heard good things about these guys and I thought that I could order from them but is there something that I missed? Wuz up with this? And for the record I still think that they are a good business and because we are only human, there are mistakes made but did I miss something or is it on their end that is missed?

Let me look into my crystal ball?

Seriously though dude, you should contact the vendor and your credit card company and have them give you additional info on the charge.

Re: Hawks third gen parts AGAIN!

I guess that I didn't make myself clear. So you understand what I mean, I'll say it like everyone is four years old. Has anyone had an experience with hawks third gen parts where they were charged more than what was supposed to? How about that? Sorry to kick you in the nuts like that but the crystal ball was somewhat out of line. Go get a BK mocha joe, it'll make you feel better.

Re: Hawks third gen parts AGAIN!

Chill out. You took it too personally.

Yes, you are upset, I would be as well. But no one here can help you with it, and honestly the only way you'll know if other people have had this issue is to use the SEARCH function and search for Hawks related threads.

Get your receipt, call your CC company to get more info, then armed with that call Hawks directly. The number 4, is below the number 7 on a computer keypad. So you it could have been an error when they were putting the numbers in the PC or P.O.S device.

Yes it sucks, stop whining to us and go fix it.

The shipping ...

I bought stuff from there before and the shipping charges are calculated THE MOMENT they send out the item. So you don't actually get to see how much it is.. That is until you get your credit card statement..

So yeah bottom line is it's probably the shipping charge, but just call them to confirm, and 30$ shipping sounds like it, judging from the weight and size of these things.

Re: Hawks third gen parts AGAIN!

Thanks hellz_wings, that makes sense I guess even though there was no shipping charge on the receipt. How heavy are the spohn subframe connectors? I guess maybe ten pounds or so. Am I about right because that is about what my hotchkis SFC weigh so I was just wondering?

Cool, like I said, keep doing business with hawks third gen. It is a damn good business just like TPIS. Only thing is, they may be a bit more expensive than their competition but who cares? I need reliablity.

Re: Hawks third gen parts AGAIN!

Yeah they usually add on shipping AFTER your order has been placed. Im almost positive they do that for everything. I bought a new front plastic nose for my camaro from Hawks 3rd Gen, it was $300 bux. I was a little skeptical about the whole "We will tell you the shipping cost later". But i figured $60, $75 bux tops for shipping. WRONG lol $125. So don't feel too bad. When the part came, it had something written on it saying "do not sell", so im hoping they didnt mean that as it's defective, dont sell this. It looks kinda warped slightly, but it could just be the flimsy *** plastic, idk. Ill find out later i guess, when i swap the noses.
