Spohn Shipping Sucks!
Spohn Shipping Sucks!
I ordered the Spohn torque arm with TH350 crossmember and loop last week as they said they had it in stock and would be shipping it out that day to only find out they wont be shipping it until Thursday this week.
I asked if they could ship it sooner then that because I need it to race this weekend and they said"
"NO" "We are backed up on shipping"
That`s a crock of Crap!!!!
I feel a long wait coming. Good thing I used my CC Card because if it`s not here next week they can keep that $600 piece of iron. errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
And all my Summit parts got here on time as always

Im planning on buying a bunch of stuff from spohn pretty soon.Hopefully I dont have to wait long

thats odd... when i bought my t56 mount and arm combo they said I had to wait something like 3 weeks..... it came that same week
sucks you have to wait after you were told it was in stock but the product is very very well built and worth the time if you can hold on that long

The more I think about it, I think I just might call em tomorrow and tell em to just Keep-IT.
They should have said something like the UPS truck crashed or it got stolen or something like that. Telling me they are behind on shipping is just an out right lie!!!!
I`v been racing for over 25 year`s and have never heard that line before.

I've never had a problem with Spohn, running their SFC's and wonderbar.

I have thier sfcs, lcas and relocation brackets on my car, each item took less than a week to get to me and the craftsmanship was perfect. I have seen other products on other third and fourthgen cars and I cannot believe some of these companies sel this stuff but I have never had any problems whatsoever with Steve or anyone else at his company.

It`s not a problem with the product, it`s a problem with the lying and not willing to step up the shipping for someone willing to pay the price. I can call just about any other mfg and get just about anything I need over nighted if needed for a little extra cash. I`m a hard core racer and I demand parts when needed or I find a new supplier. I can get a blower built and shipped over night but cant get torque arm with out waiting 2 weeks when it`s in stock????? Something wrong with that. I`m sure it`s a nice peace but I don't think I can miss another weekend of racing waiting on their backed up shipping department when it sounds like there are only 2 people working there in the first place. If I ran my shop that way I wouldn't be working long. Hell I`m here @ 10:17pm painting a car so they can have it first thing in the morning. I guess I`m the only one that still remembers who pay`s the bills.

thats exactly how i feel, i mean their products and quality is second to none but they should be a little quicker on shipping. i said i needed it in 5 business day so i could do the swap on saturday and did not end up getting it until the next friday.

I just got my parts today. It took seven days, six business days order day to arrival. I must agree they were slower than either Summit or Jegs.

I've never had any problem with their shipping. It is usually at my door within 48-72 hours after my order is placed. If they say that they are behind, I don't see any reason not to believe them. I wouldn't get BMR stuff, personally. Comparing what they offer to Spohn, their stuff doesn't seem to be of the same quality. But that is just my opinion. I say that Spohn's stuff is worth the wait.

I dont remember the amount of days, but when I called and placed my order I asked about when it would arrive. To the day they said, it arrived.
I ordered one of there parts thru a 3rd party, but direct shipped thru them. IIRC it arrived as projected to.

I was getting ready to call and cancel my order this morning when I got an e mail that it has been shipped.
They must have read this post??
I cant track it yet as it has not been scanned in at UPS but they claim it`s there.
Time will tell. I have a good friend at UPS that can tell me what I need to know
I still wont get it in time for this weekend as I was told last week. Never the less, if it is on it`s way I`ll keep it but if it`s not shipped today they can keep it.

If you tell someone that it`s in stock and you are shipping it that day you better do what you say. I wanted one with a front and back loop but they would have had to build that one. They said that would take a week or two...lol... I went with the get it right now one that they had in stock so I could go racing this weekend. I would have not ordered it from them if I would have known it was going to take 14 days to get here. Funny thing is it`s still not at UPS and it`s 6.02pm
I tried to work with him when I said I`ll pay what ever it cost to get it shipped NOW!!!!!! he said "NO can do"
If he would have shipped it Monday I would have had it Friday and could of still made the weekend. Now if he would have shipped it when he said he was going to ship it last week I wouldn't have even made this post.
Here the reply from UPS

UPS has received shipper's billing information electronically. Billing information received does not indicate shipment pickup or drop-off. Please contact the shipper for more details.

The point to that was, they should have used a better line that was more believable.

it's more believable that it got lost or stolen? that's like using "the dog ate it" as a homework excuse in school.
overall, ia ctually agree and sympathize with what you've said. you deserve to have someone be up front with you on lead time on your parts. i just think your extra thoughts are kinda funny...

LOL You think that is a lie? It isn't
Its first come first serve. I've been waiting almost 2 weeks now for a set of a-arms and coil over kit and you don't see me complaining.
Now waiting 4 months for a set of hubs and brackets is another story from someone else

Actually I said it was in stock, meaning it didn't have to be built, but I know I never said it would ship the same day. You guys have to remember we're a small operation, we don't have 1,000+ employees like Summit and Jeg's and this is our busiest time of the year. We try to get orders shipped in a timely manner, and for the most part I think we do. Another thing to consider is the amount of options we offer on almost all of our products, we don't have one cookie cutter product, we more or less let the customer tell us how they want the product optioned. With that amount of flexibility, every single option combination is not going to be sitting here in a box ready to throw a UPS label on. We're a specialty fabrication shop, not a national parts warehouse.
In any case, I apologize for the slight wait. Thanks for the order, I'm sure you'll be in a better mood when you open the box
Thanks,
Steve

I never had a problem with his shipping time, and I've given spohn more then my fair share of negative critique. Does he still use fedex though? It is a bit expensive (and fedex is a bunch of non-union mother****ers too).

You said 4 days to get here and I told you I needed it by this weekend but what ever.
I called you Monday to see where it was at and asked if there was any way to get it out and you said "NO"
I see it`s now on it`s way and I`ll be on the side lines this weekend so it really doesn't matter at this point. I think the next race we plan to do is in july so maybe the camaro will be ready then. oh well.
BTW... UPS has this thing called "NEXT DAY AIR" Wouldn't have taken anymore of your time to send it that way and I was willing to pay the price. I own a 2 man body shop and I bend over backwards for people because I`m old school. I have a hard time understand this new way of business that most businesses use these days.
It`s all good, I guess

that thing called next day air also costs 3 times as much, especially on the big parts. look at how much summit charges on small stuff for that. all i can say is bend over.
i order well over a grand worth of stuff a few months ago and received it within a couple weeks of the order. that is pretty good, especially since I'm sure they had to make a few of the pieces i ordered.
a BIG to Steve Spohn!
thanks

What do you want?? There's customers in front of you. Would you like it if your order got bumped because Mister Fancypant Deeppocket, cried over the phone for expedited delivery simply because of his lack of planning?
You got an straight and honest answer from the guy when you called to see what was up with the order--- Deal with it and move on. Sorry to hear that you missed a race over it though. Place the order earlier next time.
...and now you probably hate me too... Ah well, I guess I'll deal with it.

i dont understand why it couldnt be shipped for you overnight or next day if you were willing to pay the price. thats most bogus part of the whole story. i can undersatnd a slight delay in getting it ready to ship, but why they couldnt ship it your prefferred method, is far beyond me. And a big for old school business!!!! Thats coming from an old school Italian Body Shop Manager, doesnt get any more old scool than that, lol!!!!

I'm gonna have to take Steve spohns side on this.
He is a good guy, believe me, he has seen alot of my money, both on suspension pieces and on GP's he has set up.
He is human and maybe he did screw up, but if you ask the people here, you will get your stuff.
If it was in stock on the shelf I'll even agree you should have seen it now.
He does take his job seriously and I know for a fact he puts in a lot more than 8-5 every day there too.
Although I dont understand why he couldnt overnite it for ya?

I found out real quick that if you're having a problem with a vendor that's as popular as Spohn, UMI etc..it'll be an uphill battle to try and convince ANYONE that you got bad service, slow delivery etc on this board.
I myself have gotten good service when I've ordered at Spohn, but I realize it IS possible that someone else may not have entirely pleasant dealings with Steve. I had a bad deal myself with one of the advertisers here, and was bashed by others for saying anything bad about them...why? Because they had no problem with their transaction, so everyone else shouldn't either - right??
So I don't bother anymore. It's just the way it is.
EDIT: But I'll use this board to tell everyone about an outfit that has great service, not bad...

Theres a lot to be said in that statement lol. But for anyone to truly believe there transactions with anyone will be 100% hunky dory is living in another world.
I havent had any issues per say with any vendors here. Have had some contact issues, but I accept it as normal since I'm not dealing with Summit or Jegs. Most of the time it is less than a 5 man operation.
I had a couple problems with parts here or there and Spohn being one of them just turned around and sent me new bushings 100% no questions asked, I will admit I'm in their puter and have spent a lot of money there, I dunno if it matters or not but stuff does happen.
Least u get an asnwer from most of the vendors here when u have an issue.

Geez, I recall the day when ordering from Summit was "4-6weeks" delievery, anyone recall the old black and white ads in HRM back in the '70's?
Now I too complain if a part isn't here within a day I was charged for it...but I get over it.

No envelope on or in either box

No I don't recall "4-6weeks", I`v always got my stuff in 3 to 5 days from Summit. I didn't expect it the day I paid for it or ordered it, I expected it in the amount of time I was told the first time "4 to 5 day`s". I would have built my own in the amount of time it took to get here but I needed it now and didn't have the time to build one. That's why I ordered one "to save time" but Oh Well, the race weekend came and went and I was on the side line.
It`s over, time to move on.

LMAO....I found the envelope!!!!
It was between 2 layers of cardboard. I was cutting up the boxes for the trash and found it taped between the outside box and an inside layer of cardboard.
Oh well, I guess I don't need it now as it`s already installed. Thanks for the fine service Spohn.

FWIW - i bought my parts from Spohn last fall, said i needed it by the weekend and paid for the extra shipping - I got it on time. Very happy with the parts, shipping, and customer service each time i called.
