Grundy Insurance?

Anyone have grundy insurance, State farm will only payout 2,400
in the event of total loss WTF? they won`t even increase the rates to cover the car correctly! Grundy gave me a quote on 10,000 value, and after picking up my jaw I said "send application asap" 270.00 for whole year..and no deductuble!
Seems almost too cheap but state farm is 70.00 a month and wont pay more than 2,400 so how much worse could I do? like to hear back from anyone who has had dealings with grundy good or bad

greeze...

the problem is, a collector policy limits you on the amount of mileage that you are able to drive.

a friend of mine has his formula insured with state farm, and his car was appraised. i think it's a stated value policy?

of course, you'll need to have receipts to back up your appraisal.

Any idea on the amout of miles they limit you to? Now that I only drive the IROC during the summer, I might look into that.

your best bet would be to call around, and talk to a couple different companies that offer "collector" policies.

many of them also require the vehicle to be stored in a garage any time it's left unattended for a long period of time.

you'd be lucky to be allowed to drive more than 5k miles a year on a collector policy, if i remember right.

I contacted Grundy and was told "They may not cover my car because its too new"

I was like thats not what your add says!

I looked them up on the Better Business Bureau. They have multiple complaints.

I was asked if it was considered a show car, I see it as one, so I answered yes and the next question was is it stored in an enclosed garage when not in use, it is, so yes to that one, stated value was the next...top of my head mmm... 6,000 for the motor....5,000 for the paint and body...few years now ...okay let`s say ten thou..next thing that was said was 270.00 what`s your address sir? I usually like a local agent for this sorta thing (so I can drag`em over the desk if somethung isn`t right)
Anyway...no mention of miles were involved but I put less than 4,000 a year anyway...as far as age limit, that`s why I called them there isn`t one from what the ad said. mine an 85 so it`s just about 20 years now.

P.S thanks for the report Fruity, It something to consider for sure!
